Recommending wiperblades.co.uk

In an old thread from 2010 there was a recommendation for wiperblades.co.uk to buy replacement car windscreen wiper blades. The thread has since been closed so I can't comment on it. But I want to add here my recommendation for them, having just received excellent service from them.

The website has videos showing how to fit them.

I ordered a replacement blade from them. The one they recommended unfortunately did not fit my car but within an hour of me writing to them about this they refunded the whole cost of the blades and postage to my credit card.

I've ordered from them and they are ok.

They also have their own brand blades which are good value

Halfords wiper blades are very competitively priced and include fitting. A pair of Bosch wiper blades for a Range Rover was £7.95 which included fitting. Not worth bothering to look elsewhere !

We drove to Halfords to ask them but they said didn't have access to the correct blades.

Suppose that depends on how far you have got to go to a branch and what your MPG and running costs are.

Another vote here for wiperblades service and prices.

There are 577 Halfords stores in the UK. It's difficult to understand how anyone can be very far from their nearest store. But if you have chosen to live miles from civilisation, that's your choice.

How does that work ? The cheapest Bosch single blade is £5.79 plus £7 for fitting, the cheapest pair is £10.49 plus £9 for fitting. Halfords are not going to supply a pair of blades fitted for £7.95.

Thanks for that, really amused me this morning, never thought that proximity to a Halfords branch was a measure of civilisation. Certainly never seen it in any estate agents details, may be it is like the fabled Waitrose effect where having a branch in your postcode adds several k to to the value of a property.

Anyone shopping at Halfords will be getting turned over …..which means your overpaying and thats before the horror storys .

Shop around you can do far better its not hard .

There are different types of wiper blades these days. The ones on my Vivaro are flat (beam) blades and they are noisy, so I have ordered some traditional ones.

I think their paid membership offers free fitting on stuff like wiper blades.

So it's possible they got the blades with free fitting but neglected to mention the £10* per month membership.

*I haven't bothered to check. I do have the free membership for the occasional £5 vouchers.
