Sending letters to Creditors
hello everyone,
been a while now. I would like an advice on whether i should write to my creditors and say i am out of the country and not returning? I have been contacted by transave and been asking for me to settle. Otherwise, legal action will be taken. Should i reply to this or let it go? Thank you for those who will answer back.

You can try, but at a guess they have heard that one before so will keep trying to contact you,

There's not a lot of point.
Would you be giving them your present address? I can't see why you would want to do that. And without that, I don't live here anymore isn't going to be taken seriously. It just risks acknowledging the debt for no good reason.
So how are they getting communications to you? Text, email, phone? You can ignore all of those The debt will go statute barred 6 years after you last acknowledged it. If they wasted money on a ccj, they have six years to enforce it, which they won't be doing as consumer credit debts are not in practice enforced abroad
I can see that this has been explained to you in 2 previous threads by @sourcrates

Have explained previously that collection activity and any legal or enforcement action will only affect him if he is currently resident in the UK.
The OP no longer lives here, and has moved abroad, with no immediate plans to return, so nothing the creditors do will have any effect on him whatsoever.
And as fatbelly said, they are unlikely to just take your word for it that you have moved abroad, they will ask you to provide your current address details, which would then allow them to write to you directly, and why would you want to do that?
In your position your best strategy is just to do nothing.

Yes, they do contact me by email. Not by fone as i have no number from Uk anymore.
thank you for those who has replied once again. Do I need to pay for monitoring my credit score so I can see if everything written there is correct? I think someone has told me to check every now and then.

Again, to what end, why would you want to know, when it doesn't affect you in your current jurisdiction, and you can`t do anything about it anyway?
Six years after the debts default or after any CCJ`s are granted, all entries will be automatically removed, so it will be as if they were never even there.
You can`t intercede in this process from abroad without becoming a part of it, which I strongly advise you not to do, you have been gifted a new life here, leave your past behind, concentrate on your new life and be grateful for that.

If you lived in the UK, AND needed uk credit by way of a loan or mortgage, then checking your credit file occasionally would be good advice.
For you, it's not

This is going to depend on how long it has been since you paid or acknowledged the debt.
If you do not pay anything and do not acknowledge the debt it becomes statute barred, if they hear nothing from you it makes them less likely to take you to Court as it is a sunken cost.
Even if they go to Court the CCJ will last another 6 years but if you are abroad it will make no difference to collections.
If you write to them as you suggest then you are effectively acknowledging the debt and resetting the 6 years back to zero.
The only time I would advise writing is if you were at the point where you just stopped paying, in such a letter I would not advise telling them you are abroad, better to just say you will not be making any further payments and you do not anticipate any change in your circumstances. However, if even 6 months have past I would not advise writing or calling, just go off radar and do not engage.
They all threaten legal action but so what, that only matters if you need or want debt facility, tenancy agreement, mortgage, car finance or a mobile phone contract.

Why would you even think of doing that.
Why would you care, when I had debt problems I did not check anything for over a decade and still haven't except I made an SAR to MOJ about CCJ's and there was nothing as even they had expired.
You are done with this place, nobody is going to try to enforce a consumer credit debt abroad.
Enjoy your life in your new home.
Debt is created out of thin air and it can return to thin air.

hello,
What is an SAR? Received email from transave that the will forward a ccj if I do not contact them immediately. I was hoping to pay maybe a fraction or payment plan with them. To avoid ccj.:(0
