Morning all…went to the allotment yesterday as it promised to be quite dry. Dug out some fruit bushes, had a chat with ndn, he will cut my apple tree to size for me, which is really nice of him. We saw a strange lady, she was asking for a cutting from the walnut tree, so he went off to look for one, then considering how slowly she was walking, we turned round, and she'd disappeared…she was like snail ninja woman. Came home, didn't feel great, phoned 11 at eleven, ended up in a&e until half four this morning, no idea what it was, constant palpitations and whole body shivers…they took blood, did ecg's etc, but no reason found, all normal apparently. Instructed to phone them if things went south again…Will be doing crochet and reading today to relax…pah! I have a grumpy sister , not a DH, thankfully, or I'd kill him, [already had one of those, it's so wearing hearing someone constantly moan all the time, or pick pick pick…]
Gers, sounds like a lot of fun 🙂 Rosay, isn't it funny what pets are entranced by? TA, yes you are! 😉 Yrkslass, nice that you both get one so well. DP1, hope you're having a nice time away, same to you Allie…Izzy, me work too hard? Whos doing all the unloading at the food bank? 😛 nanny, hope all is well for you…also waving at nra, topsy, bella, snoozer et al….take care all….

Morning all
Dry here for now but rain due later on this afternoon, I had a lovely lay in this morning which was much needed I was awake till after 2 with OH snoring 🙄 but made up for it this morning.Nothing on the cards today but I will do a bit of housework and take the dogs out later, I have got a wash on the go and another to go in later.
Dinner tonight will be some grilled sea bass, a nice treat with asparagus and new potatoes, I might do the potatoes roasted with some Parmesan and garlic.
I took O out yesterday we dropped his mum off to collect her car from the garage then we had a ride around in his van to a local beauty spot where there is usually an ice cream van but it wasn’t there, so we had a drive back and stopped at the chippie and got him fish cake and chips which he really enjoyed, he just likes to get out and about bless him.
I’m hoping OH will do the worktop in the utility tomorrow, I told him last week that I was going to get someone in to do it as it’s driving me mad, his male pride kicked in 😉 and he said he would do it Saturday, once he has finished I can get the painter in to do his part.
Gers safe trip home xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
@TravellingAbuela lol I still use the phrase "I hate you Butler' if someone with that name is on TV or whatever
🤣

I remember Butler was played by Reg Varney but I can't remember why Blakey hated him!

@TravellingAbuela G**gle tells me "they represented a constant threat to his authority, discipline, and desire for a quiet, orderly depot". Sounds about right!

Good afternoon
The lovely Welsh weather girl on BBC Wales said last night that St Athan ( which is roughly where I am)had 44 consecutive days of rain so far this year!!! I can affirm that she is right lol. The weather station is about 1/2 mile from my house although sometimes the things it reports seem very different to what I am experiencing eg-it says light mist - its bucketing down! Saying that I'm sure we have all experienced different weather depending if you are looking out of the back or the front of the house. Did have a bit of a break yesterday, but back to normal this morning- must be 46 days now. Wind has risen considerably too.
Just popped into the local town to get some seriously strong weed killer from the agricultural merchant -i want to clear the area where the tree planting is going - but need a good dry spell first ( see above lol). So ventured into Waitrose for some bits and bobs, and thence to the specialist sweetie shop - its the only place I can get sherbet lemons! The lovely lady was telling me that they can no longer get certain lines as the manufacture has ceased making them. They do have a lovely line of doggy ice creams though - shame I no longer have a dog😒
Got a venison casserole poodling along in the Rayburn - long and slow. Trying to eat down the freezer(s) - just need to do something with potatoes to go with it. Might do a mustard mash.
Friend bringing her rescue GSD down this evening to familiarise as she may be staying with me for a few days in May ands she is taking a while to settle after all her adventures. I have no doubt the gin bottle will take a hit,not by me I hasten to add, not my tipple!
Hugs and spoons always.

Afternoon all, thanks @Gers for the start. Glad you enjoyed the show last night.
Well, it's Friday again - it seems to come round quicker every week! Just the usual Friday stuff today - weekly admin, meal plan for next week, one wash load already done and actually hung outside for once. It was a bit dull this morning but not raining, feeling milder too, and the sun is out just now so it should be almost dry when I bring it in. For tea we're having tempura battered fish and there's some LO potatoes to slice and fry for on the side, with bread & butter and a nice cuppa. Not quite the same as from the chippy but still enjoyable.
@Coxy - How annoying about the garage doors, I hope it gets sorted sooner rather than later. Thanks for the reminder about the Cross Stitch Cafe, I might drop in some time.
@Rosy - Old friends always have something to talk about!
@-taff - I'm glad A&E didn't find anything wrong with you but it's still a scary thought. I know you like to keep busy but maybe take it just a little bit easier for a while?
@Ruby - Ah, the threat of paying someone else to do a job is always a good motivator when it comes to DIY. 😁
Right, time to get moving again so I'll wish everyone a good day. Take care all. X

Made it back home in good time, the coach was fairly quiet though most were going onto the ferry to Islay. One woman who, I think, hadn't done the journey before, asked the driver to tell her when they got to the ferry port - he told her to look for the great big boat! Made me chuckle.
@IzzyBee - I've already got a ticket for the Morse play for 31 March, I'm looking forward to it.
The nasty east wind hasn't gone yet so I've lit the stove to get a bit of heat in the house as I watch the ski-ing, I'll make a move soon to empty the dishwasher. Had my soup and sandwich and now reading the three letters which HMRC sent me! I'm scanned them and sent onto my accountant to make sense of them, I at least understood the one which said that I owed nothing for 24-25 as I've paid it. 😀
Take care everyone.
