For those of you thinking of getting "3" mobile internet, compare prices of what you would paying the UK to what your European counterparts are paying for the same service.

According to their UK website:
http://www.three.co.uk/personal/products_services_/mobile_broadband_/index.omp

In the UK, if you "Pay Monthly" you can get 7Gb for 25 GBP a month.

On their Austrian website (sorry in German) but I will explain below:
http://www.drei.at/webshop/prepareSelectionTarifDetail.do?tarifId=ATS0039&

In Austria, if you "Pay Monthly" you can get unlimited download capacity (previously 15Gb) for 24 EURO a month (around 16 GBP a month).

and the crazy thing is, that as part of the Austrian deal I get to take my modem to the UK and use it there without any extra roaming costs because "3LikeHome" means that I can use it in "any 3 country".

Worth checking and double checking tariff prices with any mobile internet provider in the UK before signing up.

I imagine the 3g license in austria cost next to nothing, where as i think the combined income the gov recieved, for selling off the bandwidth in the uk, was around $35 billion.

You do realise that T-Mobile's mobile broadband is £35 for 10Gb right? And thats a 24 month contract. Or £44 for a 12 month contract.

So who is it that Three are ripping off again?

    We don't live in Austria.
