Repayment of Winter Fuel Allowance
At 85 with an income over £35K, I am expected to repay during tax year 2026. However, my disabled wife (83) with a low income receives half i.e. £150. As I received the other half, will I be required to just repay my half (£150) or, do I have to repay the entire £300?
My 2025/26 Tax code has been issued as K3 but the figures included on the Tax Notification does not show anything remotely listed as Winter Fuel Allowance. How can I check?

As I understand it, winter fuel allowance is an individual benefit and the high income repayment is also based on individual income.
You are getting a full fuel allowance of £150, which will be claimed back by hmrc.
Your wife is getting a full fuel allowance of £150 but is below the income threshold so there will be no repayment.

This guide explains it in more detail.
In short you would only pay £150 back as that is all you were entitled to.
And your tax code will be updated closer to April.
