Thank you / success
I just wanted to say thank you for all of the advice here. I have just come out of my claim hearing, and the judge dismissed UKPA / Moorside’s claim in about 15 minutes on ‘balance of probabilities’.
Thanks for all your help, and I believe the phrase is ‘another one bites the dust!’.

You were on The Right Track coming here and following the advice !

Meant to say, Moorside didn’t sent anyone. I don’t think the judge viewed this very kindly.

OOH well done you. Nice first post!
Yes: ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!
😃
Please tell us more. How did you feel, did you soon see from the judge's face that he or she was on your side?
Which parking firm and location?
What was the PCN for and why did the judge dismiss it?
Did you ask for your costs to attend today?

It was more conversational than I expected. The judge was very friendly and quite disdainful towards the fact that Moorside hadn’t sent anyone.
The parking firm was UKPA and the location was Newcastle quayside.
The PCN was for non-payment in a multi-storey car park late at night. I didn’t park there (I parked nearby) and the evidence images of my car just showed my headlights and number plate in the dark, with no sense of location and no location marked on the images. I disputed that I’d parked there and she agreed that the claimant hadn’t proven their claim.
I asked for costs but she wasn’t budging on that. Not fussed though, it was an interesting learning experience.6 -
I agree. I learned from every case when I lay repped parking claims for a year or two.
You get nervous but it is not as scary as people fear.

I think we all wonder about MOORSIDE rubbish cases, now we know
WELL DONE

I was a little surprised by how half-assed their case was. Moorside are taking their clients for a ride IMHO, but I guess you don't buy a lot of lawyer for £50!

YUP …. they are all part of the Rogue Traders round table

They keep a bit more than £50. They also get £35 of the double recovery £70 (when they get it, which is on every default CCJ and in every case where the Defendant just pays out of fear) and we think some of these legals keep the interest as well.
I understand that Moorside return £135 to the Parking Firm and allegedly keep all the rest.
The £135 going to the PPC should in itself be illegal because it enriches them by 35% more than the invoice raised. No trader gets that by involving a debt firm, but in parking, they invented the model!
