Additional Credit card for non uk resident
is anyone aware of a uk credit card I can add as additional card holder to an eu family relative who is not based in the uk and makes purchases for me from time to time.
At present I have to reimburse purchases or pay in advance.
It would be easier to give them a credit card and just buy stuff when needed.
my current credit cards only allow uk resident people with a uk credit history.
Thanks.

I asked over the phone with AmEx and they allowed me to do it and said to declare our address as theirs. I see now that their terms say they must be a UK resident but they have never come back to ask or say it has to be closed.

Maybe say which CCs you've checked?
Had a quick look at a couple of mine, Amex says UK address only, John Lewis says same address as primary user.

Sounds like a use for VPN for you.

thanks for the comments so far.
I think even if I said they lived at my address the checks they do nowadays would not pass.
surely someone has created a solution for this.0 -
Presumably it's in person purchases not online.
If it were an online purchase it could either be sent to the family member if they dont ship to the UK or charge a silly fee for doing so or there are international post forwarding organisations, some are reasonably in price for them to receive and then resend the parcel. Obviously this fails if they will only send to the address of the cardholder but then that check may fail for the family member anyway.

no mainly presents and gifts over there for family and friends, try and avoid online purchases wherever possible.

Transfer the money and they can pay that way
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
