What tools did you use to track and manage your house or flat hunt?

Does anyone just call all the local estate agents and tell them what you're looking for?

Obviously that is what potential house buyers did pre internet, and it would still be some people's preference. But if you have a dozen agents to phone/email or physically visit, that can take some time, whereas you can quickly see what is available in your price range/house type by looking at RM
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
It genuinely never even crossed my mind to do this. Way too much of a faff when I can see all the properties for sale on Rightmove.

Now that is interesting. You know that agents inform clients of properties they've been appointed before they post them on rightmove? OnTheMarket for example have a 24/48 hour exclusivity on properties they post, meaning other people can snap up properties before you even know they exist if you just use rightmove

Yes but I didn’t need that when I was buying. The market wasn’t sluggish, but nor was it moving so quickly that things got snapped up that quickly. The house I bought had been on the market for several weeks when I made my offer for example.
In a fast-moving, sellers market I may have done it differently. But there was no need to.

I viewed the house we bought the day after it went on Rightmove, appearing late afternoon. There had already been viewings from people already on the agent's list.

There's a new tool out there called HomeStretch - helps you manage the whole process from beginning to end, mostly tied to first time buyers I think

I can't quite place it, but this thread has a kind of spammy / market researchy kind of feel about it, rather than it seeming like a genuine question.
