    Seems to have been a waste of time, the MSE calculator said I would not be eligible for any card, although it is a defective calculator that counts gross income and does not have category for people on benefits.

    Just confirms my position that credit is a bad thing, I will get 120 days chargeback voluntary scheme and that will suffice.

    Surely benefit income is gross income, so it's unclear why you'd consider the lack of a special category to be a 'defect'?

    The MSE calculator isn't gospel though (no eligibility calculators are), so it isn't a definitive representation - have you tried the bank where you have your current account?
