Separate shopping account
Hi everyone,
We already have a joint account for the big bills but would like a separate one just for the weekly shop. The joint account is with the same bank as our personal accounts so we get some cashback/roundups there on our direct debits etc.
Would prefer a different bank for the shopping but don't want to move our other accounts. Does anyone have this and can get cashback/round up or other perks?
Thanks in advance.

I use Chase for my shopping. I have enabled roundup and think for the first year you get cash back (had mine a while so may have changed). I put in shopping money from my other bank account at beginning of month and then buy shopping from chase account using my phone to do so. It is easy to set up Chase account - well it was when I did. Hope that helps :)

Do you want a joint account for the shopping? Chase are good for supermarket shops but don't do joint accounts.

First Direct and Santander offer joint accounts, and there's a small amount of cashback for these on TopCashback.
Another option could be a cashback credit card, paid off in full monthly. There are larger sign-up bonuses, ongoing cashback, and it's easy to add a second card holder.

We just have a joint account for shopping with the same bank as our main account - works well but we're not obsessed with cashback/perks for this account.
Why do you want to use a different bank? You can just open another joint account with your current bank.

We have 2 joint accounts - Joint 1 (Nationwide) - for our Mortgage, Direct Debts and Annual Bills. Joint 2 (Starling) for monthly living expenses shopping, occasional takeaway etc. To budget the living expenses we looked back over the 12 months spending, then rationalized it to try and reduce it and set a monthly budget. This has worked well for the past 8 years anything left in the monthly budget is saved, we review the budget every year. We both maintain individual bank accounts for salary's and transfer an amount each month to the joint accounts. I take this one step further and transfer my monthly budget to a personal (Starling) account for my personal spending, pub, coffee, snacks etc…
