Morning all! It's sunny! To be fair though, it wasn't bad yesterday, I spent all day in the garden [ all day, ::snort:: a couple of hours] drilling out concrete, moving a couple of sleepers, installing some metal edging [ what an absolute pain, damn stuff kept falling apart] and laying some cardboard and woodchip to see what it would be like. We put a lump of it in the compost bag and I thought, I'll just stick the thermometer in there to see how warm it is, 50 degrees! I'll have some free compost in no time. I'm not planning much today, dodgy ankle after yesterday, so fetching some cardboard and printing off some stuff for people to sign is on the cards. OH is on lates hence somewhat radio silence, he gets the computer first thing..I'm up earlier than him today though :)
Yorkslass, sorry for your DS, maybe they'll work it out. TA, phone in the morning and see what happens? Gers, you were industrious! I did laugh at Izzys you're a parcel…God, who'd be in their right mind to suggest moving from a beautiful place like yours to a city…Allie, enjoy the break! camelot, how ridiculous, next thing they won't come in because it's gas. Hope there's news about the car. Ruby, have you told your mother about SABLE? :) WL, congrats to your DS…Izzy, I've got a V pillow, but I sleep on my side, there's room for my shoulder in the crook and my head on the top of the v. If you pull it towards you contortionist style you can also support your back…silentnight or one of those brands has been the best one so far, ikea was a bit cheap. Take care all!

Hello all, I'm late to the party today because I had a lie in which I desperately needed. I sorted more van stuff yesterday and recycled/binned a couple of things as they had been used for up to the last 40 years so they were now ready for retirement. I'll keep all the electrical items, kettle, toaster etc though as they'll be ready for use if things break.
This morning I have emptied the dw and put the dirty stuff in it as I was too tired last night, the wm is also on. Later I want to hoover/dust through upstairs and then I think it's jigsaw or reading time.
Izzy I used Silentnight hotel pillows in the van which I'm keeping to swap when my pillows give up the ghost. BTW I think I saw some in b&q the other day.
TA I hope you can get your appointment soon annoyingly Mr Fix it tried for 2 months to see a nurse about his meds ! Thankfully the organisation that ran his surgery has now thrown in the towel and our Health Board had to step in because of all the complaints.
Have a good day all, take care

Good afternoon
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Sunny here but still very cold.
@Gers I'm sure your family have the best of intentions and are there for you, I'd say thank you for your concerns but I'm fine for now. I wish I had someone who cared.
Take care

I know that he has the best of intentions and yes, I know he cares. Just missed the mark.
Please remember, that we here care for you even if we are remote. If any of us lived close to you then it would be more tangible.

I was just going to say the same SO.. We care and I'm sure we all wished we lived a bit nearer to you. Take care xx

Hi all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I’ve been for a short run and have spent the morning at the community garden. Such lovely people up there ❤️ I was planting a mixed hedgerow which was fun. Now home and I need to weed our front borders. Glorious day here.
Hugs to @WickedLady4 I hope you feel better soon x
Never underestimate the support you have here @silver-oldie - we are all here for you xAnnoying about the GP processes @TravellingAbuela and @nannywindow ☹️
What an absolute joke @camelot1001 I’d be having words!
Our car failed the MOT on a tyre. Ha!fords wanted £100 for a new one with a free retest. If we took the car away and got our own tyre they would charge £27.50 for a restest…for a tyre that even I as a non-mechanic could confirm is new! Our tyre place wanted £72 for a tyre so DH had a conversation with ha!fords who have agreed to supply a tyre and match the price! I felt I was mansplained to yesterday which irritated me no end!
Have a good day all

just popped back to say we are a caring bunch on here and we all think about you silver oldie I’m another who wished you lived nearer and I know I quite often shout at Taff to try and make her behave herself not that she takes any notice but I only do it because I care about her

Just a very quick one from me to let you know I'm still here and to thank you all for your kind responses and support. DS isn't the quivering mess he was when he turned up on Saturday with goods and chattels in tow but definitely nowhere near 'mended'. As for a reconciliation, who knows? I like his DP very much and thought they were well suited and happy but whatever happens needs to be their decision. After being on my own for a while now, I'm enjoying his company but at the same time finding it strange too. He's welcome to stay as long as he needs to - we just need to set some ground rules on who has the laptop and when! 😁
Normal service will be resumed asap but in the meantime I hope everyone's woes get sorted out quickly and satisfactorily without too much hassle. Take care all. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.13
