Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Very cold this morning, looks like there's quite a frost. Will need to wrap up warm to get the little one, DD is meeting me half way and we'll come back on the bus. The buses here don't have any heating so it will be chilly. The little one will be here all day, I'll take her to her swimming lesson later on.
Heating guy turned up yesterday but didn't look at the boiler, said there's not enough room for him to work - 6 people have been here before an no-one has mentioned it. Back to the drawing board! Still no word about the car, may have to give in and phone them today.
Dentist was ok, nothing to be done, just had to pay for X rays which wasn't very much.
Whilst I was waiting for the heating guy I hoovered the stairs and had a general clean round.
I can't imagine you enjoying a move to Birmingham Gers!
Happy new job day Topsy.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning all
Cold one this morning but at least it's going to be a dry today. Have a dentist appointment later this morning and parking is a pain so will get there early. It's in Rochester so I'll have a wander round the Cathedral and the castle to use up some time. Good job it's going to be a dry day then!
Some ironing to do this morning and a wash to put on the airer upstairs and that's about it for the day methinks!
Have a good day all x

morning everyone dry and very cold I’m off out to a cleaning job soon . Gers I’m annoyed on your behalf they must think you are a parcel to be packed up and moved around. Not a lot happening here just housework and I might take the dog out later . If anyone can recommend a pillow I’ve bought loads over the years and I struggle with neck pain but nothing seems to work I’ve paid cheap and expensive but nothing helps I still blame all the heavy lifting I’ve done over the years at work. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone
Currently sunny 😎 but 🥶. I’ll take that over rain any day.
Didnt get much done yesterday so will catch up today. Waiting for the council to collect the old freezer - don’t need to be here but rather make sure that they are careful around nearby cars as they move it. Plenty of jobs to get done and some faffing in the campervan as I’m off to Wales for a couple of nights tomorrow. Need to wipe down all the stair and landing banisters - one of my least favourite jobs!Dinner is soup followed by pancakes (scotch/drop scone type ones, not crepe-style) and fruit so that’s easy.
Have a good day all.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. We currently have sun! That might be hard to believe but even better no rain is forecast. But of course it remains cold and we had a frosty start.
Another day of same old same old. No lunch with DF today as her DD, who is a headmistress and lives near the east coast, is coming over for the day. She is worried about the situation with her dad and is going to demand with the doctor that something is done instead of them just getting fobbed off all the time and the situation just gets worse. Woe betide the doc if she has her school teacher's head on, she takes no prisoners!!
I am at my wit's end with my surgery too (the same one!) as I have had a letter and a reminder to make an appointment with a nurse for a blood test, before my annual med review. They kindly tell me to ring after 1.30 to make the appointment. Which I have been doing for 2 weeks and the phone never goes off the long winded recorded message by one of the docs and the phone line never opens. Grr. So this morning I am going to send an irate e-consult asking for an appointment and see if that happens.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all x

Morning all
Bright and sunny here which lifts the spirits, it’s very cold but would rather that than constant rain. I have two people coming today and we are going to make the most of the weather and get out for a walk, I shall take them to higher ground in the hope that it won’t be so muddy.Dinner tonight will be a mixture of things involving chips, the shopping is being delivered tomorrow so the fridge will be restocked.
We started sorting mums material stash yesterday we went through two baskets and it’s only just touched the surface, she has got a small pile for donations which when we are finished I will put on the local free page.
Camelot how ridiculous of the heating engineer 🙄 I hope you get it sorted soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all. Bit sunnier today here.
Which is more than I am really! Having been unwell since the middle of last week with what I thought was a cold I finally contacted the GP yesterday and saw a very nice practice nurse. Apparently I don't have a chest infection but have been given some back up antibiotics to take if I don't feel better by the end of the week. She also suggested some over the counter decongestant tablets, which have worked so far, and a nasal spray. All sounds good but I still feel rough and washed out this morning and didn't sleep at all well.
Mr WL is also under the weather with an infected tooth, for which he's been given antibiotics and another appointment to see someone on Monday. In the meantime DD and family have all had a sickness bug, one after the other, so they are staying well away until fully recovered.
I suppose the only bit of good news is that DS has passed all his Orthopaedic Consultant's exams, taken 18 months early, so he can start applying for jobs once he finishes. Two of his friends have also passed so I joke they'll all be competing with each other for the same jobs!
I hope everyone else is better than our household. Gers: I guess he has your own best interests at heart but it would be a firm No from me.

congratulations to DS Wicked lady
It’s sunny and dry !makes me feel so much better ,have got the duvet cover on the line ,hopefully the creases will be blown out .
Off to my book group this morning .was really struggling with it at first ,then suddenly got hooked and loved it ,will be interesting to see what others thought .
The downside of the sun is it shows all the dust and general mess ,so will try and knuckle down to clean
Do you remember me telling you I’d sent a box of my late aunties broken bits and pieces to the old cash cow? ,well they’ve offered just under £500 for it
I am stunned ,told my son who replied that meant it was worth more .i pointed out that the bits had been knocking around for over 30 yrs since I cleared her house and no one had expressed any interest ,offered to get the box returned so he could ‘get more ‘ ,but he said No 🤣🤣
Will pay for a short break ,I’m now looking at other things .
Stay safe all10 -
Morning all - been pottering around upstairs again and then washed my hair downstairs.
@camelot1001 - what a ridiculous situation and a very stupid engineer. It reminds me of the time I watched (from my previous upstairs flat) the gas engineer arrive, come to the front door and walk away again. When I phoned BG I was told that the bloke was wary about pressing the bell in case of a gas leak. I hadn't reported a gas leak - the boiler needed a service. Grrr.
@TravellingAbuela - and what another ridiculous situation at your surgery, hope that you get it sorted out today. @WickedLady4 - get better soon. The nasal drip is horrible. Good work at your mum's @RedRuby1231, It's a lovely day for a wander @Chrisca50. @IzzyBee - I'm now with @WickedLady4 - my cousin is just trying to look after me but I'm nowhere near infirm or lonely or isolated. As @camelot1001 and @dp1 said -it's hard to imagine anywhere more different than Birmingham to where I live. This morning the sea is twinkling and Jura is clear and beautiful. Happy Gers.
Yesterday I was fairly productive. The order from Marks which was due on Wednesday arrived in store so I decided to drive up to the big town to collect it. I took the big bag of soft plastics, a bag of glass jars, the bag of recycling and a black bag of domestic waste with me - even remembered the bag of blister packs. First stop Marks where I only collected the order, didn't buy anything. Then to the big Tesco to dump the soft plastics, no shopping, drove round town where I was lucky to find a parking spot right outside Boots. Stashed the blister packs, no shopping. Round the street to the stick the glass and recycling in their dumpsters and finally, on the way out of town, to the dump to sling the black bag. Home!
The trousers I ordered are lovely, just too short despite being regular length so back they are going, however I have re-ordered in the long size.
Today I have some travel money to collect - not for me but Australian dollars to give to my nephew when I see him in two weeks. The family are going out to QLD again at Easter so I want them to have some spending money for the six children's activities. And that's my planned day, it'll be more TV watching.
Hope that all are well, warm and safe. Hugs all round.
PS in edit - yesterday I found the new remote control! Wasn't even looking anymore as I'd exhausted all the places I thought it should be. As I was watching TV my eyes wandered down to the shelf under it and there the blessed thing was. Joy! 😀

GERS Within about a minute of pressing send to my e-request a lovely lady phoned me to make my blood test appointment! Rather than asking you in letters and texts to ring after 1.30 to make an appointment, why don't they just ask you to make your appointment by admin e-request in the first place. It would save a lot of stress hoping someone would finally be manning the phone! Grr, rant over!
I've just had a delve in the almost tidy and organised freezer to see what appeals for my dinner. I emerged with a bag of scampi which I will have with some air fryer wedges and frozen peas. It seems ages since I had any so will make a nice and easy change. Usual dessert of frozen berries (obviously defrosted first!) and yogurt.
WL I hope you all soon pick up from your lurgies. This winter's lurgies seem pretty to hard to get rid of once they get you. CAMELOT sympathy for your stress, how ridiculous. Was he an exceedingly enormous man when he said the space wasn't big enough. SS what a lovely surprise to be offered so much money!
Take care all, stay safe xx
