Cook Skillz debit card scam

A few days ago, I saw a payment for Cook Skillz on my debit card. I thought it was a food truck where I bought lunch and forgot about it.

Then it got worse. One day I woke up to dozens of fraudulent payment notifications on my phone. My bank blocked most of the payments, but some went through.

I immediately froze my card and called my bank.

I googled the companies that tried to charge my card: Cook Skillz, Recipes-Chef, OK To Food, Tasty Skills, Cooks Mac, Tasty Troves, The Snack Bee, Food Chefs, Savory Delights, Tasty-Bites, The Food Bliss, Girasal Limited, Hipump Media Limited, Telenex Limited, Rentree Limited, Blippio Limited, Gletter Limited

All their websites are identical. It's clearly a scam.

https://thesnackbee.com

https://foodschefs.com

Watch out if one of these companies tries to charge your card. It's not a food truck, it's a scam. If you don't block the first payment, they'll keep trying to empty your bank account. My bank also recommended to report this to https://www.reportfraud.police.uk All these companies are in the UK.

I'm not the only victim. Apparently it's a well known scam:

Do you know what the source for this was?? Sounds very scary.

  • I'm not sure how they got my debit card number.

I saw some people on Trustpilot saying they were charged after buying ringtones or other things online. I haven't bought any ringtones, but I do sometimes buy video games or watch football online. Maybe one of those sites had something to do with it.

  • I was charged from the thesnackbee.com this morning, I don't know how the got my card details.

But few days ago I downloaded some game (I never play games, believe me) but I thought I would give it a try, just once, just to try, it was supposed to be free. And at one moment, I was redirected to the thesnackbee.com - I don't remmember clicking anything, I'm a rather conscious internet user. Reported them this morning but its hard to find negative info about them.

  • Thanks, it's good to know. I hope the police will stop this scam.
