Irish Passport Renewal - Extraordinarily Quick
Applied for simple renewal online last Tuesday 10/02 - passport arrived in mail this afternoon 16/02 (to UK address).
Very impressive turnaround.
Not sure if the new dual citizenship rules meaning a UK passport must be held for UK entry applies to IRL citizens (many visa/passport rules don't), so my use might be somewhat curtailed.

My understanding is that Irish passport holders are exempt the new ETA rules, same as a UK passport.

Applied for both my British and Irish passports recently and both were about a week turnaround… didnt make note of the dates to accurately measure.
Irish citizens have unrestricted rights to live and work in the UK so you won't have the ETA issues as a dual citizen entering on your Irish passport.
