PREMIER PARK, BW LEGAL court claim 2026
Hi all,
I'm looking for some guidance as I deal with my first ever Letter of Claim (from BW legal on behalf of Premier Park) - £170.
The alleged contravention is “Not Parked Wholly Within Bay.”
It’s been over a year since the supposed incident and there is no photographic evidence included with their letter. At what stage do I request proof - in my email response to the Letter of Claim, or later down the road during court proceedings when evidence is exchanged?
I’ve also read here that it’s never too late to complain to the retailer/management/landowner, so I’ve taken that step (I checked my bank statement and I did spend money in Tesco that day).
So far I have:
- Called the shopping park contact number listed on their website. I was given a different email address to that on the website (so I was feeling hopeful) and told I’d receive a response within two days. It’s now been a week with no reply.
- Submitted the same message through their online contact form (I saw another forum member mention they had success this way) but I'm still waiting for a reply.
If I don’t receive a response in the next few days, I’ll need to reply to BW Legal before the 30 day deadline expires. I’m going to use the standard template response in the newbies thread. Should I add anything specific about my situation?
A big thank you to everyone here who helps people fight back, it’s really appreciated!

Later down the line, as you surmised !
- Yes, continue with the landowner complaint plan A
- Chase it up in due course
Do not discuss the case, just deny liability

Hi @Gr1pr and all, I’m back again with an update following a response from Arena Shopping Park Management.
If anything, their email has made me even more annoyed than I was before. I've attached a redacted screenshot below. Of course the answer to their offer is NO. Is it even worth replying to say that or should I simply wait for the inevitable court claim pack to come through the door?
Also, what do they mean by “2nd Placement”? I’ve never come across this term in this context and it just adds to the confusion.
I’d really appreciate any advice on how best to proceed. Thanks in advance.

Send B W LEGAL the LoC response template
Then wait for a Money Claim

Thank you for your reply! I sent BW Legal the LOC response template but didn’t receive a response. I made sure it was sent to all the BW legal email addresses I could find on the forum (around five), so they must have got it.

Reply to that offer and say are they joking and to give their head a wobble if they think this is a reasonable response to a customer. They should be embarrassed at themselves for going along with their agent's little scam regime so meekly and they should know that:
- there is no such thing as '2nd placement' in private parking
- cases can be recalled from BW Legal and cancelled at any time because
- the template letter chain is the standard MO, not escalation, and
- no fee has been paid to BW Legal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you so much @Coupon-mad for your advice! I’ll put together a strongly worded response now.

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well. I'm back again with the court documents… ugh.
I'm about to file the Acknowledgement of Service but just wanted to run 2 questions by the experts before I do.
- So the court documents are issued in the wrong name. My first name is double-barrelled but the documents only show half of it. When filling in the 'Defendant's fullname' box, should I correct it or does the mistake somehow work in my favour?
- I already have a Government gateway account. Do I need to set up another one for the purpose of this?
Apologies if these are daft questions. I want to make sure I'm not making any silly mistakes. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You should be able to use your existing Government Gateway account. Is the name on your V5C correct? Is the name on the claim form the same as on your V5C?

Thank you for your reply @Le_Kirk
I hadn't thought of the V5C until you mentioned it. I traded the car in nearly a year ago so I no longer have the original log book.. hmm. The V5C for my current car is in my full correct legal name.
I've found the original purchase receipt for the old car, which shows my full legal name, and my insurance policy for it was also in my full name. I'm usually very careful with these things, so I'd be surprised if the old V5C only had half my first name.
I'm going to call the DVLA on Monday and ask for confirmation of the exact name they had recorded on the V5C while I was the keeper. I hope they give me this information without having to file a Subject Access Request because from what I've read they can take up to a month to respond and I just don't have that time.
I hope this will not impact me negatively during court proceedings.

I dont think that you need to worry, it shouldn't affect your case
Correct the details on MCOL using the edit button and put in the full name in the manner you described earlier
No need for a 2nd account either
Let them make mistakes
