If it’s a bank deposit it states bank, if QMMF it states QMMF.

My sterling deposits show a mix:

EUR account currently split between 6 banks.

If it's a QMMF it clearly shows it. Snapshot of GBP which is currently split between 14 banks and 6 QMMF.

Not sure I would entirely trust Malta's ability to cover many * €100,000.

I am relaxed about that. The Maltese scheme is as safe for the depositor as our FSCS scheme is. If the deposit scheme has insufficient funds, any of the schemes have the option for a loan from their respective Government.
