2 letters received from DCB Legal

Hey all,

Looking for some advice and expertise on where to go next with this.

I've received 2 letters today from dcb legal advising me they have been instructed by CP Plus Ltd to review the outstanding PCN issued to me. It gives the location and a balance of £170 but doesn't state anywhere on the letter what date this PCN was for (I believe it might be from 2024).

It goes on to say their role at this stage is to :

Review the case information and evidence supplied by the client, assess whether the matter is suitable for litigation in Scotland and provide me with a final opportunity to resolve the outstanding balance before legal escalation.

It then goes on to say that if legal proceedings are raised, it could result in a decree being issued which could affect my credit position and lead to further enforcement.

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

Thanks :)

Ignore the bit about legal proceedings as there's a way to stop that but I'm not sure what the circumstances are for Scotland as they differ from England I believe. Someone will be along shortly to give you the official position.

    Totally ignore it.

Perfectly safe. DCB Legal do not litigate in Scotland and their 12 year old call centre kiddies wouldn't have the foggiest clue!

    Thanks so much for this!

I did panic when I seen the letters and thought I was in for a bit of a battle.

It turns out it's unrelated to the parking ticket I received in 2024 and it's not a part of town I can ever remember parking in. I have 2 letters that both have the same location and different reference numbers.

No info about when it supposedly happened etc and I haven't had any PCNs in for these claims beforehand so totally at a loss with this one.
