Got a £100 fine from CUP enforcement
Hi all,
Looking for some advice because this feels ridiculous.
I parked in what turned out to be a “pedestrian access”, ( it wasnt properly marked nor labeled, besides i parked next to the closest parking bay and i didnt block or cut off any access to cars or pedestrians) area outside Euro Car Parts while I quickly ran in to get a part for my car. I was literally in there for about 15 minutes, but all the proper parking spaces were full at the time.
Literally two days later, I had a £100 parking charge from Close Unit Protection (CUP) Enforcement.
I’ve already appealed and sent them proof of purchase from the shop to show I was a genuine customer and only there briefly, but they rejected it saying it’s not a valid reason.
I honestly think this is completely over the top — £100 for 15 minutes while I was actually using the shop? Feels like a money grab.
I’m not keen on paying it out of principle, but I also don’t want it escalating into something worse.
Has anyone dealt with CUP before or been in a similar situation?
Do I have any grounds to challenge it further, or is it one of those “just pay it or it gets worse” situations?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers!

Its definitely NOT a fine
Read The mse parking company guide
Also read the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Plan A is always the best option here, so complain about it to the landowner or landlord or business

Loads of threads about CUP.
Of course you don't pay a private parking charge all the time they remain unregulated!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
