Buyer requesting item to be returned?
I recently sold a new phone case on eBay, and I just got a message from the buyer asking for a refund because their phone doesn’t fit the case. I think it’s probably the buyer’s fault for not checking the phone model first. I’m okay with accepting the return, but I really don’t want to lose money because of their mistake. I used eBay’s prepaid label to send the item—will that cost be refunded with the return? And what about the selling fees? Will I be charged for those too?

Was the SD label buyer or seller pays. If you paid, ie it was shown as free delivery to the buyer then I don’t believe the payment eBay took from you sis refunded, but if buyer paid then you’ve lost nothing anywhere - another positive for SD.
If they are claiming a change of mind return then as long as your return policy says that buyer pays, then buyer will have to fu d the return as well.

The listing was for free delivery to the buyer.
Just checked the listing returns policy, which states:
No returns, but backed by the eBay Money Back Guarantee
Sellers may be required to accept returns for items that are not as described.0 -
So long as you didn't misdescribe the item you are protected, and I think once the buyer opens a change of mind return they can't then claim not as described...so you're pretty safe saying 'no' to the request
