😂 - my mind is running away! Mind you, sledging is fun, not so sure about doing it head first lying face down.
@Chrisca50 - I did, especially after the first match. The Calcutta Cup is special.

Hello all, it's back to grey and mizzly rain here too.
Yesterday we made a curry and I cooked a peach cobbler ready for DGS's stay over but sadly this morning he called to say he has woken up with a sore throat, runny nose and cough, so he has postponed his visit until he's free of the lurgy. We're ok with that as we'd rather not go down with it too.
This morning I have been playing tetris in the freezer because I need to freeze some of the food delivered yesterday. I shall cook the minted lamb chops though as they had defrosted. I have some tidying left to do from yesterday and then the afternoon is all mine to do nothing.
dp1 Little one is such a character, hope the anti b's work soon.
Have a good Sunday everyone. Hugs
nan xx

Morning all
Back to constant rain here 🙄 and OH left his washing out on the line so it will need to be bought in and put on a spin then a turn in the TD.
Nothing much on today will do a bit of housework and then have a lazy afternoon, on Friday I picked up 6 large double cream reduced in Mr T so I made butter with them yesterday, one load of normal salted butter and a huge roll of garlic butter which is in the freezer, I shall cut it up today and freeze it in chunks it’s handy to have a supply when needed. I kept the buttermilk so today I shall make some gf cheese scones, OH can take one each day to go with his soup.
Pork chops for dinner tonight with mash and veg I got some lovely thick chops with the shopping so hopefully they will be nice.
Have good days all and take care xx

Just checking to see if it's still morning….. just, yes good morning all .Was rudely awakened around 7.30 when the dogs at either side of us started barking, and then I heard L whimpering at the door of the living room. He's normally always still lazing when I get up. He rushed to the front door & I spotted a leaflet from one of the local election hopefuls. Miffed at them delivering so early on a Sunday, I gave him the leaflet & he ripped it up pronto 😀. We had a bit of snow late last night after a lovely but cold day so I took him on the hill at the back of the park & made some snowballs for him- they were a bit soggy though.
TA, that's really interesting about you and Bob sledging in Switzerland, happy memories for you. DS and DGC have gone to Poland with friends for skiing over half term, his best mates partner is from there so she knows the ins and outs. Just hope the M62 was ok during the night (Leeds/Bradford airport)
They called yesterday morning to pick up a small onboard case and some parcels that had been delivered
dp1, love the sound of L.O card and envelope 😃
I made a curry last night but after we had the starters we were both full so we'll have it later. Not our usual Sunday fare but will make for a lazy day. Well done with the garlic butter etc. RRuby.
Raining hard now so can't see us venturing out. Stay safe all

Good afternoon
After a sunny day yesterday we're back to heavy rain, it's as though it's trying to make up for a day.
Usual Sunday roast today, turkey left over from Xmas, roasties veg and stuffing.
A friend of ours got the bad news Friday that the small chain of shops he works for is going online only and closing all their shops, making all staff redundant, way of the world now, unfortunately. Hope he finds something soon as he has two young lads.
Dp1, how lovely little one made a card for her mum, something to treasure.
Have a good day all, take care.

Afternoon all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I've been to yoga and have taken Mum shopping. It's biblical rain here and some of the roads are flooded, so I'm glad to be home in the warm. We will be watching the rugby later here too. Well done to Scotland for yesterday - they deserved the win! Dinner is mushroom risotto so nice and easy.
We have been skiing a few times but not since Covid and I'm now doubting my ability and nerve! Gosh that sledging sounds fun @TravellingAbuela 😀
Hugs and spoons to all those in need and take care all.

Afternoon all, thanks for today's start @Scarlet.
After yesterday's beautifully sunny day, a fair dump of snow arrived late last night and was still there this morning when I woke up. The rain soon put paid to that though and it's been a day of on/off showers with just a brief hint of watery sun. Not too warm either.
I'm running late today and all at 6's and 7's. Whatever the tension between DS and his DP is/was (no-one's saying), it's erupted and he's back here nursing a broken heart. How long for I have no idea and it's looking like the wedding bells won't be chiming after all. 😞 Just when I was getting used to being on my own too. It's a good job the guest bedroom was ready and there's plenty of food in the house. At least finding room for his stuff isn't the challenge it might have been, thanks to some serious decluttering last year. Dinner today is a goulash with potatoes and broad beans.
Although I have read today's posts, my brain is so frazzled I can't remember what anyone has said - apologies for my lack of responses - and I really hope everyone is having a better weekend than I'm having. Take care, have a hug if you need one. I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully in a sunnier mood! X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Awww sorry to hear that @YorksLass Happened with my eldest DS many years ago and it is upsetting x

I'm so sorry to read that YL. And they seemed so happy after Brazil. That has happened numerous times here in the past with both DD and DS. DS came back once
with a cat and later DD came back also with a cat. As we had 2 dogs at the time that was fun!!! We managed to re-home DS's cat but DD's stayed as it didn't expect to just walk in and be the boss! I know how upsetting it is and it's awful seeing your child, no matter how old, so upset. I hope they manage to sort something out. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
So sorry to read your news @YorksLass and I hope your DS is okay. Glad you have the room for him to stay. Hugs to you both xx
