Lost ! or stolen ? Parcels Royal Mail/Parcel Force

I have recently "lost" another parcel with Royal Mail both were 48 hour tracked parcels and both have 2 address labels on, both also had return address labels one on each side of the most recent parcel, when contacting Royal Mail customer service I was advised the parcel was lost and that I should make a claim, my concern is Royal Mail to easily dismiss any real attempt to find my parcel, as my parcel was medium size 42cm x 42cm so not small and certainly not easily lost. I was told that, "quote" Royal Mail "does not require delivery offices to provide them with an explanation for lost parcels" so basically no investigation and no accountability ! on my first call bare in mind both calls took me over an hour to speak with an adviser, I was told my parcel was lost in the network when I queried this as the tracking indicated "out for delivery" returned to hub and would be delivered on the next working day it was obvious to me my parcel was not lost in the network in fact it was at a local HUB in this case, Aldershot, so not lost in the wide network actually lost at the HUB BUT Royal mail do not require delivery offices to provide an explanation so my take on this is Parcel can be STOLEN by anyone in a specific HUB as there will be no accountability and no investigation ,,so what is the risk to employees / managers ? for "Loosing" parcels? I have no way of proving my suspicions but if you have had an experience like mine let us all please ask for more accountability and weed out potential HUB that this might be a habit and far to often to be just LOST parcels

it’s not just Royal Mail where this is an issue. DPD should have been sending my parcel to a pick up point but instead to delivered it to my home address where it presumably was stolen because I never had it.
Where there are huge volumes of parcels every day, it’s not really surprising that some go AWOL. Especially in the state that Royal Mail is in at the moment.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
