morning everyone thanks for the start Gers it never stopped snowing yesterday and we have had a hard frost overnight but the sun is now out blue sky what’s lovely sight . I have some washing to hang out it’s my dog walking coat I also wear it to unload the van at the food waste and its absolutely shamefully dirty but it’s like a plastic coating so it needs hanging outside to drip I’ve had it years but it’s nice and warm and the hood stays up . I will be going for a dog walk later just to get some fresh air then it will be housework I have had a scrabble about in the freezer meatballs later . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

I have looked and it’s only certain stores, presumably the larger ones which is a shame as we have loads of blister packs!

Morning all, thanks Scarlet.Glad you got your gold card- I need to do a batch of birthday cards.
Gers, glad the view on the drive back gave you some pleasure after your difficult time.
No football for DGS today but will watch tv this afternoon.
I'm making a curry tonight, got all the accompaniments.Meant to get the chicken out last night but forgot, doh.
DS2 is meant to be calling with the kids today before going skiing tomorrow, not sure when though, so I'd better get the dogwalk started.Still -2 here, better put his coat on I suppose .DH came with me yesterday in the afternoon as we wanted to look at work being done in the park- dredging a very silted up pond. Ldog stood mesmerised by the big digger 😀
Enjoy the sunshine today!

Ally and Coxy I've just checked and it doesn't operate in my store. That's a shame as I always feel bad about chucking all my blister packs especially in the bin. But I can't find anywhere local to dispose them x

Morning all, we have wall to wall blue skies and sunshine, whoopie ! It fair lifts the soul after all the grey rainy days.
Yesterday I was in an out of the surgery before my appointment time, can't fault that service, maybe they took pity on me as I'm there so often ! Our visit to dad was ok with no arguments or moaning from him, doubt it will last though. His kitchen worktops were rammed and I had to squeeze in his 2 packets of ginger biscuits as he likes everything in sight, unfortunately he wouldn't let me clear them except for putting his recycling in the bins. He knows where everything is apparently but for me all that mess drives me nuts !
This morning I have a food delivery arriving as DGS is coming to stay tomorrow and I'll need extra supplies 😁, only 2 items OOS which I can work around. I have already put the breakfast dishes in the dw and pressed go, other than that I will be pottering, tidying and hoovering up all my Valentines cards 😂
I see we have a medal in the Olympics, well done that man ! More Olympics have been earmarked to watch later.
Have a good day everyone, hugs to all
nan xx

Morning all
Bright and sunny here too which really lifts the spirits, still cold though but I can live with that, one load of washing is on the line and another to follow.Little dog got on well yesterday, they had to remove 7 teeth and they cleaned and polished them, they look so much cleaner and her breath is better, she is in a bit of pain I think but she has some painkillers to have at lunch time, hopefully she will be more comfortable now.
Steak for dinner tonight with chips mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, OH will cook but I will prep the tomatoes as I prefer mine to his 😬
DD is off to her young man’s for the evening, he is also cooking steak and she has made cheesecake for the desert.
Matthew was in good spirits yesterday we had a lovely time together and he hugged me when I left and told me he loved me 🥹 that had me in tears he is so lovely and I think the move to residential really suits him, his mum asked that I go again but she will pay me for the time as the relationship is very important to him, I said I would love to it won’t be a regular thing but it suits us all.Gers how nice that Lionel wanted to be in the same place as your dear mum xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Thanks @Scarlet for starting us off and good morning everyone.
Yesterday's weather alternated between sleet, snow and icy rain for the best part of the day followed by a very chilly night. I saw the gritter going up and down the road in the evening and, sure enough, this morning it's frosty with icy puddles, but not likely to last long as the sun has graced us with its presence and the sky is a clear bright blue. I'd almost forgotten what it looked like! 😉
I've done my meal plan for the coming week and have remembered to put pancakes down for Tuesday. I'm not dining with DS and his DP this weekend and, tbh, I'm pleased about that as I sense there is some tension in the air and I don't fancy being the referee! In the evening I had a browse of the Hotter catalogue - big mistake. I've been tempted by some court shoes that I've had my eye on for a good while so have ordered them. Not one, but two pairs! 🤭 Same style, different colours, at the bargain price of £29 per pair (were £85) with a further 20% off after using a voucher code.
Nothing in particular planned for today although I do have a mind to review my ever-lengthening To Do list and come up with a plan to get things off there. No idea what's for tea but there's plenty of choice so I'll not starve.
Enjoy the sunshine while you can, take care and have a good weekend. X

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note as I've been absent so long. Childcare and prep for Steve's seventieth and his sister coming to stay have all taken it out of me. I'm glad of a quiet weekend to try and recoup.
We had a lovely time at Center Parcs last week for the birthday celebration. We only had one meal in the pancake kitchen, although I had an omelette which was ok but nothing special. I'd taken meals and each family cooked one night.
I am now going to make a Minnie Mouse bow at Esther's request so wish me luck.
Have a good day.

Afternnon all
Just back from a beach clean at Barrybados - one of the smaller bays. Think everyone and his dog was down there (with dogs!) as it was a beautiful sunny morning .Parking was horrendous and the traffic-I don't know where it all came from lol. Anyway 14 of us cleared an area - it mostly very small plastic bits - in total about 2 bin bags worth.
Apparently there was a controlled blast at our local power station which is undergoing demolition. I knew it was going to happen soon, but they had not said when. Suppose it's good old elf n his mate safety. Seems strange to see the place being chipped away -I remember it being built. They say it's progress, I'm not always convinced.
Clouding up now this afternoon ready for the next downpour- at least we saw the sun for a while today
My Cosmos seeds are sprouting well on the kitchen windowsill, some of the other stuff has yet to show any signs. I'm an impatient gardener sometimes.
Hugs and spoons as always - think I might go watch some of the limp pics
