Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Well, it's stopped raining here, now it's dry and cold with a heavy frost.
Not much going on here at the moment. I'm trying to get back into card making, and I 've made a card for one of our grandsons, it's his birthday soon. I'm quite pleased with it. I found the gold card I needed here, in one of the shops on our high street, so it saved me a journey.
Still living out of the freezer as far as I can, so shopping at the moment is just the staples.
It'll be a quiet day today I think, ds2asked me to shorten a casual top he'd bought, it looks to be an easy job. I might start that.
Thoughts to our poorly people, and those having a hard time at the moment.
Take care folks.

Morning all
Chilly but dry this morning and we are due some sun later!
Cake making, bed making and Winter Olympics and rugby on TV later. That'll do for me today.
Have a good day all x

Morning GERS and all to follow. Amazingly it's looking as if the forecast is right. How could I doubt it. Already not a cloud in the sky and brightness over the moors shows the sun is waiting to rise. A day of sun at last will cheer us all up I'm sure. It's currently minus 2 but set to reach 5 deg by mid day.
Shopping not until lunchtime as DS is working this morning. Still wading my way through he freezer but one or two bits are needed to replace what DGD had last week. A pizza and some sausages. It will be a treat to be able to fit them in without a fight. It's taken me about 14 months to get to this stage!. Combining the stocks of two freezers into one and now just eating from the one large one. I think it has finally dawned on me after all these years that I am not feeding a family!
I seem to be taking nearly as much to the sm than I will be bringing back! A bag of stuff for the food bank, a bag of soft plastics, some batteries and some cosmetic tubes for their various collecting containers..
Have a good day folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all and enjoy the sun while it lasts! x

Yesterday was a gloriously bright and sunny day though very cold. Hardly a cloud in the sky too. The drive down to Glasgow and back was such a pleasure but tinged with sadness. Despite the plethora of blooming roadworks jamming up nearly every road in the area of the funeral home I used a roundabout way to reach it. Collection of Lionel's ashes was very quick, just a couple of forms to sign and it was done.
I took the opportunity to take the recycling away to the large dump there and had a chat with the very chap there. He's so helpful unlike most of the others. Then I again avoided the jams by going via the big Waitrose and the back road to meet the main road. Coming home was a delight, the snow on top of the Rest was picture perfect.
Once home I slumped in front of the TV. Whilst rest I booked tickets to see Russell Howard, then Nish Kumar and then train tickets to visit my nephew in March. The drive down to him is almost six hours each way and I have lost my appetite for such long journeys. I've combined it with my car's MOT so will stay with Alan overnight and leave my car there. The sliders and skaters took up a lot of attention too.
Today may be lovely again, the clouds last night were bright pink and fluffy. Only a little shopping is planned once the car has defrosted, it's -2° right now. 🥶🥶 Keep warm everyone. Hugs.

We have 🌞 - lovely pinky sky at the moment too.
Yesterday’s coffee and cake were lovely and just a few things purchased at the garden centre. Torrential sleety rain as we left and I got soaked and chilled fetching the car then walking DM to it. Decided not to visit the tip so the freezer packaging is to get rid of still!
I’m on taxi duty again this morning and sorting the new freezer later so that’s my day partially sorted!
Take care all, doing this one-handed as Bdog is ‘needing’ my other hand to be stroking him otherwise he’s climbing all over me 🙄😉😂

Morning All
Very cold this morning but lovely and bright. The sun is about to rise so the frost should start to thaw. The bedding I put out yesterday morning was dry when I brought it in, just aired it by the radiator for a while and it's put away.
I ordered a new air fryer/oven type thing that arrived after I got home, I only ordered it on Thursday morning! I usually struggle with deliveries with being at work but this one was perfect. Haven't used the new cooker yet - looks a bit complicated!
Glad your sad trip was cheered up with the good weather Gers.
Since not having the car I've been surprised what I can get locally too Scarlet, pleased to hear you didn't have to travel far for your card.
Well done on getting the freezer stocks down TA.
I'll put some washing in once I've had a shower and peg it out then I'm off to collect the little one. I was going to borrow my friends car but she wants to come here on the bus, stopping at the swimming pool on the way. She'll be staying here tonight, her Mum will pick her up some time tomorrow, no hurry as I'm not doing anything and we are off for half term (just 2 days for us) on Monday and Tuesday.
Hope you have a good weekend, take care. XX

Good morning
There's a strange orange ball in the sky here, not that I'm complaining, a bit of sunshine will do us all good.
I did the shopping yesterday, stuck to my list. The roads weren't too bad, big puddles rather than floods, but of course they hide the potholes.
DH will be watching the rugby later, so I'll find something to do, maybe deep clean the bathroom and have a cull of the unwanted toiletries. Burgers in cheese topped rolls for tea, nice and easy.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers I’m glad the trip to Glasgow went okay and nice for you to have some trips out to look forward to x
@TravellingAbuela have you thought about the B00ts scan to recycle scheme. For every 5 items you recycle you get 500 points when you spend £10 - worth looking into x
We are off to Canterbury today to look at cars…urgh. Needs must though as ours is now 10 years old so time for a change. Hoping to be back for the rugby 🤞🏻
Dinner is lasagne - haven’t had it in ages and looking forward to it.
Have a good day all
