Acer pc with Dell monitorkeyboard etc
I am planning on purchasing a new PC and have been looking at an Acer. For someone who is not very techy how easy would it be to utilise my current monitor/ keyboard/ speakers etc which are all Dell with a new Acer. Would it just be a case of downloading drivers?

Keyboard/mouse/speakers are all standard, USB (or the 3.5mm green hole for speakers) Plug them in and they'll work nothing else to do.
Monitor - depends what model you have now and what you get. Most computers have either HDMI or DVI-D output, so if your monitor has either should be okay. If it only has VGA then not all computer have these, especially not on the branded ones. No drivers needed.

HDMI or DP, DVI is depreciated and will not be on any modern PC/GPU.

Almost certainly they will just work out of the box without doing anything.
