Clarifying my best next steps for private parking ticket
Hello,
In mid Jan i received a parking ticket on my windscreen for my car being parked in a council estate. There was no signage coming into the estate, in front of where i parked or to the side and i left the areas without seeing any signs. However, there was a small sign on the council estate wall that wasn't lit that i didn't see, this was 5 metres or so behind my car and was the only one in the area. It was dark, the sign was unlit and even the photo taken by the parking attendant was on full flash (very obvious in photo) to make it seen.
This was though PCM, who are members of the IPC and use the IAS appeals.
Before discovering the forum, i appealed via the company's own appeals service within 14 days, however, i did not disclose my name and address, only my email details as i did not want them to have this information. I also didn't disclose who was the driver/owner.
I have just received an email saying that because the address isn't there i have to submit a completely new appeal from scratch within 14 days through their service. I also note the deadline for IAS appeals is 28 days which would be today, if taken from day of the ticket.
Having read the linked instructions the general advice appears to be to do nothing, not appeal through the company or IAS and wait for the court case. Would people recommend that i do nothing from now in my case, even though i made an initial appeal, or to try through IAS/the company first? Any help appreciated, Cheers

Sorry, just to add, do you think my case would have a strong case at court if it got there?

The usual scenario s appeal as keeper before the appeal window deadline, including the keeper name, address and VRM details, not anonymously
Or
Wait for the postal NTK PCN letter to arrive in the post and then appeal as keeper to PCM UK LTD
Expect any and all appeals to be rejected
As for court, too many unknowns to even think about outcomes, if it got to a hearing , Judge Bingo etc
Its only a very foolish person who tries to second guess any court hearing outcome, should it actually be decided by a qualified Judge in court, at a court hearing

Yes, due to this:
"There was no signage coming into the estate, in front of where i parked or to the side and i left the areas without seeing any signs. However, there was a small sign on the council estate wall that wasn't lit that i didn't see, this was 5 metres or so behind my car and was the only one in the area. It was dark, the sign was unlit and even the photo taken by the parking attendant was on full flash".
I would go there in foot this month IN THE PITCH BLACK and get lots of photos without a flash. Keep them.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT THE IAS.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT PAYING!
Tell PCM if your address changes, of course.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Guys, think i will wait until i receive a NTK before refuting/appealing further and not engage with them before this point. If it doesn't come great, if it comes then i will appeal at that point and hope it doesn't come to court. I'm in the same place next week so will gather the evidence in the meantime.
