Euro Car Park PCN - Shell garage

Hello,

A PCN has been sent to the registered keeper in our household due to overstaying a time limit on a Shell forecourt. An appeal to the garage manager was dismissed - unless I could prove I was using the laundry and then they would cancel the ticket - and an email to the operator SGN came back with a reply saying they won't rescind the PCN.

So now it's an appeal to Euro Car Parks - they must be playing games as the form doesn't allow enough characters to input the full template first appeal.

Any ideas on how to proceed, please?

Thanks!

The problem with these additional services offered on landowner sites is the parking operator often doesn't allow the time required to use these services and/or dictates the times people can access them.

Was it even possible to take a photo of your car beside the laundry did you pay with cash? I would go above the Shell manager with a complaint.

Expect to lose an appeal to ECP. You can report problems logging an appeal, their website -Complaint policy has an online form to complete.

If you've not already done please read the NEWBIES announcement thread top page 1.

    SGN? Who are they?

Is the site owner not MFG?

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • no, SGN - https://www.sgnretail.uk/brighton-road-shell-best-one-surrey

  • To clarify, I didn’t use the laundry. Apologies if I was not clear. That is the only reason they’d cancel the ticket. Apparently it’s a 15-minute maximum. I was there longer as I had to take a call (hands free), and with the surrounding area being a red zone, I thought pulling up was the safer option than driving and talking. Clearly safer but potentially more expensive.

I read the newbies thread - hence me asking about the ECP form as I tried to use the template in my appeal but couldn’t post the whole response.

OK just ignore it and come back at Claim Form stage, when DCB Legal gets involved. Ignore ECP and DCB Ltd.

Of course. I mean, you can send the template appeal if you want but what are you expecting to gain?

It's not meant to work! It won't cancel it.

The farce of non-independent 'appeal' is not on your side and it's a fairly pointless stage for most of these invoices. There's no reason to break a sweat to bother, unless you can get damning photo evidence of a lack of signs.

You win at court claim stage because DCB Legal always discontinue defended ECP single PCN cases before hearings. No risk, no CCJ, copy & paste stuff that wins every time and it's ten times easier than any appeal process.
