Morning All
Sorry to tell you all that it's the most gloriously sunny day here - not a cloud in the sky! I washed the bedding as soon as I got up and had it pegged out by 6am, hope I'm home before the sun goes down.
Hope the little dog is ok Ruby.
Glad you got your drawers fixed Gers!
Happy Anniversary to the lovely couple AA, that's quite an achievement. Well done on making their day very special for them.
The car saga continues and I'm completely over it. Having the work done under warranty isn't looking good through no fault of my own.
Have a happy Friday, take care. XX

NAN your DDad is right about ginger being good for you but having it in biscuit form may be defeating the object a bit! But that has set me off wanting some ginger biscuits now! My lovely grandma's recipe is calling me.
Oh no CAMELOT that's unfair, expecting you pay for the repairs whilst it's under warranty isn't on.
They were wrong about the sleet, it's coming down as snow and settling thick and fast. Going nowhere so it doesn't affect me but sorry for folk round about driving in it. Hopefully it won't last.

Thanks for the start @Scarlet and good morning to one and all.
Yesterday the rain held off until teatime and the promised sleet arrived overnight, although at the moment it's more like snow that's settling on roofs, parked cars and the grass. I think (or rather hope) it will be a short-lived affair since tomorrow should be a day of sunshine. The most we can expect for the 'feels like' temperature today is -1 deg. 😕
I did my Co-op shop yesterday and remembered to take the tin of grapefruit segments with me for their food donation box. Just a few purchases including some YS items. One of these was a pack of hot-X buns, cherry bakewell flavour, that are OK but I wouldn't buy at full price due to the distinct lack of cherry pieces. The bargain buy was a bunch of yellow carnations, normally £3.50/reduced to £1.68/less a 50p member MOC, so £1.18 paid. I normally go for pinks and reds but yellow is a sunny colour to brighten up the dull days and they should last until the end of the month.
This morning I've received two pieces of junk mail (that I've already had twice this week 🙄), a Hotter sale catalogue that I'll browse (but try not buy from 😁) and my personal allowance tax coding for 2026/2027. I've also booked a gas boiler service in for next month. Today I'll be doing the weekly admin, also next week's meal plan. DS did mention something about Sunday dinner and an overnight stay at theirs this weekend but it's not definite so I'll need to check with him first. Tonight's tea is a tempura battered fish with mushy peas on the side.
Nothing else happening so I'll wish everyone a good end of week. The usual hugs are here for anyone needing one as well as healing wishes for the poorlies. Take care, stay safe and warm. X

Hi all,
Glad your parents had a lovely day @AlwaysAllie and enjoy the shopping!
I walked to the local town today - 3 miles each way. Dropped off soft plastics, got the free pizza Sky VIP offer, recycled some bits in Boots and bought some hair care that I needed. Also found an RHS gift set BN in BHF that will be for MIL for Mother’s Day.
I too got reduced HX buns in Co-op @YorksLass but went for the original flavour over the apple crumble flavour. Will be having one later - yummy.
Very cross on your behalf about the car @camelot1001 ☹️For those with snow/sleet - please take care. Hugs to everyone else - have a good day x

@Coxy - I went for the cherry bakewell version as I've not tried that one before and found it so-so. I usually go for the original, although if I come across the chocolate & salted caramel variety (especially if it's YS) I can easily be tempted! 😁

@Coxy11@YorksLass I remember getting some XC buns from Waitrose some years ago which were Heston Bloomineck's recipe.. They were awful!! Can't remember quite what the 'flavours' were but it put me off for life lol Stick with traditional now
