I've found that all it means is that you get a weekly email which always includes a getaway competition, and a monthly one with a few competitions. The venues are generally very good - we were fortunate to win a few years back and the room cost would have been into four figures

Any comp that requires entrants to sign up to emails should have NL (newsletter required) at the end of the comp title, that's what I was indicating.
Some people don't enter comps where they need to sign up to receive emails, so it makes it quicker for them to skip these NL comps if it's in the comp title.
