Coach to Heathrow Terminal 5

Just for information. If travelling to Heathrow Terminal 5 from the Basingstoke, Frimley, Camberley or Bagshot area there is a regular and cheap coach service that has been in operation for a while now.

The Newbury and district Flighhtline 730/731 service

Cost is £6 one way from Basingstoke or £3 one way from Frimley/Camberley/Bagshot to Heathrow Terminal 5.

It is a good service and I've now used it on a number of occasions. They run a combination of coaches and at some times of day normal type buses. On the coaches the driver will place your suitcase in the luggage hold, on the normal buses you take your bags on board [but there has always been enough space for bags on the normal type buses as well]

I must admit the first time I used it, I was slightlyu nervous about whther the bus would turn up but you can easily reduce your 'stress levels' by downloading the Newbury and District bus APP to your phone and you can see the coach in real time, so you know where it is.

The coaches even have free WI-FI.

The only thing to watch is that the bus terminal has high concentrations of fumes. It's really badly designed, and they haven't upgraded to electric buses yet.

Because they are often delayed, you can end up waiting there for a while. Not ideal.

Not something that I had tohught about before but on the coach concerned that I posted about you can see it's live position on the Newbury and district bus APP and can stay inside in Terminal 5 until the coach arrives….simples!

I've not been aware of the underground bus station at T5 being particularly polluted, but it is a miserable and gloomy place to wait any longer than you need to.
