Age of warranty replacement item
I purchased an electrical item direct from the manufacturer on 13/8/2025 and it recently developed a fault so I contacted them last week under warranty.
They have now sent me a replacement item but I am a little disappointed as it is a refurbished unit with a manufacture date of March 2023, whereas my original unit had a manufacture date of July 2025.
I am not sure if there is anything I can do as I am would have preferred a device of a similar age to the faulty device.

As it's under warranty, they can pretty much do what they want based on their stated terms and conditions, so have a read of those and see what they specify. A refurbished item is not necessarily a bad thing, even if manufactured a while back but it obviously depends on the item in question and how much use it got before the refurb.

For future reference, if you buy something that fails (especially if - as here - it fails within 6 months of purchase) then you need to weigh up whether to pursue a remedy under (1) any warranty or (2) under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Your decision will depend on the precise wording of the warranty and your assessment as to whether the warranty gives you better rights than the legislation.
In this case if you had gone back to the seller under the legislation you would most likely have been entitled either to a repair or to a replacement, and the explanatory notes to the legislation spell out that if the iron you had bought was new, then the replacement should also be new. (See Consumer Rights Act 2015 - Explanatory Notes)
