Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x That’s a long time to wait for a first appointment - it’s lucky you have options but still galling.
Thank you all for your kind concern - I’m fine just a bit shaken. My dressing comes off tomorrow and I have the AB’s. The police are saying there are no lines of enquiry plus the NT place are saying due to data protection they can’t give details of car park users. Fair enough - so I’ve shared to two local FB groups to see if anyone can identify the lady. She didn’t strike me as a paid dog walker, more like walking the dog for a family member? Dog warden is my next port of call - thank you @mehefin x
I’ve parted ways with boss. Messaged her yesterday, kept it professional and factual. She came back with a ranty reply so I left it for an hour before replying. She is a piece of work. I have two mornings a week promised from another broker. It’s set days and hours. Won’t make me a fortune but is something and will hopefully grow.
Congratulations to your parents @AlwaysAllie xThat doesn’t sound good about the car @camelot1001. Glad the bus is at least free! Small mercies x
I bet O’s mum can’t believe her luck having you @RedRuby1231 - that other ‘carer’ is clearly in the wrong job x
The price of vet bills is what’s putting us off getting another dog - it is a licence to print money it seems!
Have a good day everyone

@YorksLass - thank you for your positive key thoughts! I did remember them and it was a good job I did as a lot of fine cracks have appeared in Mum's downstairs cloakroom window. It was odd, at first I just thought it was part of the sort of crazy paving pattern that the window has, but when I looked closely there are lots of fine line cracks, the window is still intact, but I shall have to get it replaced.
@RedRuby1231, I'm glad you were there to help O, that "carer" clearly hadn't understood the caring bit of the job!
It's gone from raining to a sort of mist and drizzle here, is that a sign that the endless damp is going to end? I do hope so!10 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off.
After yet more overnight rain, it's dry this morning but the rain is forecast to be back this afternoon and once again sleet looms for tonight and tomorrow. 😕 That being the case, I'll do my weekly trip to the Co-op this morning but I'll be making sure I'm suitably attired; people walking past seem to be muffled up so it could be chilly out there and I can't rush around as quickly as I used to do. After that, I've nothing out of the ordinary to do, just the same old routine. Tea tonight is a h/m mac'n cheese from the freezer with a bit of salad on the side.
@Suffolksue - Once spring cleaning kicks in I'm planning to rearrange my living room too. I know in my head how I want it to be but, before I start moving things, I'll engage the tape measure to make sure it will work! 😁
@camelot - I don't miss those days of waiting for buses to get to work, especially in winter when they didn't turn up. Hopefully you won't have to argue the point over the car.
@Ruby - Well, that carer clearly isn't in the right job! About as much use as a chocolate teapot. 😯
@Gers - It's understandable how the mix up over the parcel happened but still a palaver for you. Hopefully you won't have a repeat performance today.
@AA - Glad your new freezer arrived as planned, fingers crossed the sleet holds off tomorrow while you're transferring the contents of the old one.
@TA - Thanks for the timely reminder - I keep forgetting I have a tin of YS grapefruit to take for the food donation box but will do it today while I'm out.
@-taff - I do have a job where I can sit around all day doing not a lot - it's called Retirement! 😎
@Coxy - Good to hear you're OK after the dog episode but sorry about the job. Hopefully the new one will be better for you.
@MollyW - Good lass! Do you think the 'cracks' in the window might be scratches rather than cracks? Mind you, you still might want to get it replaced if you're selling the house.
Thinking of the poorly ones, I hope everyone has a good day. Take care and stay safe. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
