You can object to the principle of something even if not directly affected.
If only those in contract on low packages (such that a pounds and pence increase is excessive compared to the alternative) complain then nothing will ever change. It is nonsensical that effectively only the consumer is bound by a minimum term in which they cannot make changes when those terms are a 'take it or leave it' set by the provider most of the time. Very few providers offer the full suite of a rolling 1 month, 12, 18, 24, 36 month options. You should get a fixed price by agreeing to lock in; if a provider isn't happy to provide a service for more than a year without putting the price up then they should only offer a 12 month contract.

Yes, I realise that. Ironically, I re-ran the query on a different browser with a couple of tweaks earlier today, and it claimed that EE did NOT have mid contract increases, and that 1p-mobile runs on Three! 1-mobile uses EE, and could be what I use next.

I am with EE broadband and have been in a contract for a bit less than 24 months.At the start of my contract I was paying £30. I have just received my latest bill which stands at £39.60. I knew there would be some price hikes but definitely not aware they were going be that high. Can I ask how such practices can be justified and whether there is any point in being in a contract if price hikes of that kind are allowed? I have expressed my anger and shock to EE but think much more is needed to counter those practices. One thing is particularly tough for me to accept: the fact that I live in an area where I can only get broadband from providers with mid contract price hikes. I'm effectively forced to pay a fortune for my broadband just because of where I live, adding insult to injury….

The price increase was known before you took out a deal , so it’s your memory at fault if you were not expecting any increase , if £30 initially then your increases are either £3 each March ( or £4 if renewed after 31July2025 ) if you are nearing the end of a 24 month deal chances are it was £30 to £33 last year , then £36 March this year , and you were told about this when you joined EE , it was highlighted when you signed up , the reason why it’s an odd amount this month of £39.60 and not £36 is because the increase is the end of March , your bill probably runs mid month to mid month ,so part of the increase is fir last month , if you look at your estimated bill for next month it’s likely to be £36
