Universal Credit review asking for specific dated bank statements

I have already provided about 50 statements to my first agent and these were accepted. But for an unknown reason I got a new agent that is demanding that I provide bank statements for Sept 2nd, Oct 2nd and Dec 2nd

I have provided the three statements but they are dated 3rd of each month??

But I have been told no, they have to be from the 2nd?

I have asked my bank and they say I can get statement copies sent through the post but only copies of what I can download from my online banking

What can I do now? Has anyone ever heard of this? I mean what is the difference between 3rd (which I can supply) and the 2nd (which I cant supply)?

I have even uploaded 2 extra statements one for 2nd Aug and one for 2nd Jan so they can see between the lines as it were!

Any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated

Instead of a full statement, log into your online banking and go to your Transaction History. Filter the dates to show specifically Sept 1st to Sept 5th. Take a screenshot or "Print to PDF" of that screen. This shows the activity on the "missing" 2nd and acts as a bridge between your statements. Or visit them in person at the jobcentre.

  • I have tried that, doesn't work with the review agent, I think she is acting above the guidelines or law

They are a virtual team and I am 30 miles from nearest job centre

    Thanks buddy

If the COOP do not provide specific dated statements then I am completely stuck

Highlight this to the agent: "The statement dated the 3rd shows an 'Opening Balance' that matches the previous period's 'Closing Balance.' This confirms no transactions occurred on the 2nd, or that any activity on the 2nd is captured in the opening figure. Doesn't seem to me to be unreasonable it seems they're going OTT or operating for something else that they're answering to.

  • Thanks I have done that and like I said have uploaded statements for Aug and Jan, so they have 5 months worth

    This is laughable but not

I heard someone say recently "Just because someone is a [insert occupation], it doesn't mean they're a good [insert occupation]. After all, someone has to be last/bottom in every class."

Sounds to me that you're dealing with someone who was last in their class.

Is your AP 1st to 2nd?

Sounds like someone is not too good at maths, to be able to work it out.

@TimeLord1 that is a transaction list, not a statement. They don't like lists. I guess as it requires to much working out what the opening & closing balance is.

Do you get paid on the 10th?

Which would make the start of your period 3rd month?

    AP is an Assessment Period.

When you look at a Universal Credit statement, the period it covers is an Assessment Period.

It sounds to me like a request from another department. HMRC are like that; doing audits, they love giving people the runaround for what was clear to see from the start. Or someone on a power trip.
