@ sign only brings up a list of users some of the time

I hope it's okay to add my comments about problems tagging here, as I'm having a slightly different issue to Pennysintopounds, if this should be a post on it's own, please let me know and I'll delete this one
What I did:when trying to tag some, using the @ sign only brings up a loading list of users some of the time
When the list does appear and I can select the user I want, spaces and comma's are added to the text after the user name
If I go back and view my post with the tag in, 60% of the time, the tag has disappeared
What Should happen:Using @ should always bring up a list of users to tag
Additonal spaces and comma's shouldn't be added to the text
Tag should remain in the post
Why it matters:Tagging users should be a basic part of the functionaility of the forum
Device/Browser:Laptop and Chrome

I've had this problem on both desktop and Android phone.
When the list does appear it's painfully slow (especially on phone) and if I try to type the name rather than wait for the menu it either inserts a space between the final letters (@mama n) or adds an extra @ at the start or both . Sometimes it just posts the @username and freezes completely so that I can't add anything and have to post it to get rid of it when my text is incomplete.

it's getting on for 4 weeks since I posted about the usernames being really slow to load the dropdown menu. It's still much the same although it's as if it 'warms up' and after I've posted one username others are a little bit quicker to load. If I don't wait for the menu, I get the problems described in my previous post. In my experience though it's still a fault rather than a 'nice to have' issue with the new editor.
