Simple Delivery .. Item over 61cm in length

I want to list an item, which is quite light but the length is about 64cm, which is greater than the maximum for simple delivery.(61 x 46 x 46)

In the old days I would simpy use EVRi and that was that, but it seems that isn't possible now with SD

I sell items that are long and thin and a similar length to yours. I can fit them diagonally in a box that is within the medium parcel size you have quoted. Would that work for your item?

Thanks for the reply and suggestion .. sadly not in this case.

I've actually listed it as collect only, but I realise I would get more possibly, if I listed it normally. previously I didn't even have a suitable box, but I found one yesterday

Try listing in a different category.

Simple delivery allows for bigger items than medium parcel but you don't seem to get that option in all category.

Or try listing using a desktop PC rather than the app

my local post office don't bother weighing or measuring ebay parcels, when Simple delivery started they were told to just print the label, stick it on, if anything's wrong ebay will pay for it. I have sent several things that are too big or heavy in the last 6 months, I did get a warning message from ebay about an overweight Evri item , but they covered the cost. it was 2.5kg and I had selected 2kg, it basically said it should have cost £2.50 but they waived the fee

Last week I had a box that was 63cm long, tried to post it a a different post office and they measured it and refused to take it, I did say I'd be happy to accept any overpayment fees but they wouldn't accept it. I just took it to my usual PO the next day and it was delivered without a problem

I thought you could still list heavy or bulky things with old fashioned postage fees, like we did pre simple delivery?

Depends on the category, some categories allow for items to be bulky, some don't, although ebay are working towards closing this loophole by adding carriers who specialise in bulkier items.
