British Gas switch through MSE question

I am currently with BG and was looking at that switch. Part of the process is where you put in what your current tariff with BG is. Mine is called “Cheapest Fix Tariff “ That tariff is not listed so I just choose any tariff to see what the actual unit and standing charges are. The day electricity and standing charge is a bit more for electricity. Though the night units and gas a bit less. As I can’t actually put in the tariff I am on when applying could that cause any issues when changing as my faith in BG is fairly low!? I have read that in the past that changing your tariff through MSE hasn’t always been as straightforward as it could be. Or the £20 cashback is not always paid. Or are those issues unfounded?

I’m also already a British Gas customer and recently re fixed with them on Exclusive Fixed Feb 27v1.
The MSE British Gas Collective deal was still slightly cheaper than my present fix tariff so I applied to switch as it said existing customers could still apply.
A week later I’d heard nothing from BG.

And today i had an email from MSE Energy Club saying my application to switch to the BG Collective tariff deal was unsuccessful with no reason given. It did say to contact my current supplier (British Gas) for more details as to why the application was unsuccessful.

I’ve been with BG for 14months now I don’t find them to be the easiest energy supplier to contact. I did however at the end of my last fix term threaten to switch away and was offered £125 credit to my bill to stay on a new fix so I accepted that. So maybe that’s why they won’t allow me to switch to the better MSE Collective deal.

In answer to your query my present BG tariff wasn’t on the drop down list either as I’m on an Exclusive fix I therefore picked the closest similar fix

When I first switched to British Gas I did so through the MSE energy club and did receive the cashback after a few months of switching
