DCB Legal/ParkingEye Defence Help

Received a claim letter from DCB Legal dated 3rd Feb 2026, for a PCN first issued in 2020!

This was for parking at PureGym where there was free 2.5 hours parking in the communal underground parking spaces.

On this particular day the time spent in the gym/car park was 2hr 58mins.

All PCN/correspondence from ParkingEye was ignored. DCBL was the litigant until now.

Complaints to PureGym senior management (purehelp@PureGym.com and humphrey.cobbold@PureGym.com) have been unsuccessful citing the change in parking controller has made it difficult to get cancelled. They were able to provide the gym attendance log for the week showing 4/5 days with 2hr 15mins average time spent.

Anyone have the CEO Cliver Chesser's email?

Is it wise to defend the claim stating long term gym membership (still an active member) providing the attendance log?

The current parking controller is Your Parking Space and the parking limit has been 3 hours with them.

POC:

1.The defendant is indebted to the claimant for a parking charge(s) PC issued to vehicle ******** at St Georges Tower, Leicester.

2. The date of contravention is 24/12/2020* and the D was issued PC(s) by the claimant.

3. The defendant is pursued as the driver of the vehicle for breach of the terms on the signs (the contract). Reason: .

4. In the alternative the defendant is pursued as the keeper pursuant to POFA 2012, Schedule 4.

AND THE CLAIMANT CLAIMS

1. £170 being the total of the PC(s) and damages

2. Interest at a rate of 8.00% per annum pursuant to s.69 of the County Courts Act etc

3. Costs and court fees.

Any help appreciated!

No … that POC says the PCN is a fresh one, relating to an event on Xmas Eve.

What's the date of the Claim, top right?

What is stated under 'reason'? Just a full stop?!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry! My typo. The POC states:

    2. The date of contravention is 24/12/2020* and the D was issued PC(s) by the claimant.

You have left the PCN references, the claim number & password and the VRM showing to start with.

As Above, remove, redact, repost certain pictures , plus for clarity edit that incorrect date in the first post too

OK so use the template defence with the special para 3 (you know the one. It's linked - twice - in the template defence thread).
