Travel Insurance "ASAB" Observation
I recently booked a holiday for next February. However, after a chance discussion with my annual insurance provider I was informed that I was not covered for cancellation as the holiday dates are after my current annual policy expires in September.
I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this with their provider?
I can understand that the actual holiday would not be covered, but had expected that a cancellation during the current period of insurance would be.
A warning to all - the advice to take out insurance "ASAB" is very wise, but may not provide the cover expected if the holiday falls outside of the period of insurance.

Its not unique to your policy, its not universal either though, there are annual policies which will cover holidays that will occur after the renewal date if the issue happens during the policy year (some will require you to renew to do so).
Most people who are buying ASAP however are likely buying single trip policies which is a different beast and no consideration of renewals.
