PCN - parked on land off road, behind kerb and pavement

hi there. I parked on land behind kerb and pavement when couldn’t find anywhere else. Normally cycle to work. I should have photographed it but was annoyed and didn’t. see screen grab of google maps. I parked just like the car circled. You can see the double yellows and where they end.

PCN says, 01 Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours. What does this mean? There are no signs. Parking on street is free, no restrictions (unless you park in double yellows obviously). I was not blocking the pavement. My car is longer than the one pictured so perhaps the end was overlapping slightly with the double yellows. If so, only slightly. Other people park there every day and don’t get a ticket.

Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you

    who issued the PCN?

    private company or local council?

    If the later try https://www.ftla.uk/ for advice.

    If the former - read the newbies thread.

    I think you have answered your own question, if your car overlapped any part of the yellow lines you committed that offence. As this is a LA ticket you should post over on the FTLA board for advice, but make sure you actually read the ‘Read me first’ thread before you post anything.

    I expect it's still part of the highway, and the double yellows apply all the way to wherever the highway boundary is (I guess the wall). So depends whether you straddled the area affected by the double yellows.

    You are actually parked on a pavement judging by the kerb and raised nature. While not illegal except in London or Scotland there can be local by laws.

    We have them in certain spots in my rural area.

    If that's the infringement then the PCN has described it wrongly.

    It will be because the pavement is also covered by the DYL, so correct contravention.

    Your best bet would be to go to the FTLA forum ftla.uk for assistance as this forum only deals with private parking charges.

    Typical parking in Bradford. Only now Council are cracking down on the abuse.

    If you were parked exactly there, it doesn't look to be in contravention of the DYL but there will be photos of your car online.

    Show the images to the experts on FTLA.

    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
