Nest thermostat thinks we're Away, when we're not

Location services are set to always, both phones are selected for Home/Away.
Not sure how to enable background app refresh?
Don't know which model Nest therm we have, but unlikely to be an old one, we've only had it a couple of years. We don't use the learning mode anyway.
Update this morning, all seems to be working OK at the moment, but I've not left the house since coming back yesterday afternoon, and OH is away. Will be interesting to see what happens when I go out later, and also when OH returns tomorrow evening. If the problems start again when he gets back, it can only be down to the IOS update, which I still haven't installed.

Latest update, I went out earlier; using the location tracker for an Airtag, I discovered that Nest thought I was Away when I was 0.3 miles from home. It decided I was home when I was only 0.1 mile away.
