Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's a dry start here. Yesterday it didn't rain at all! It was cold though.
Not a lot to report, we pottered yesterday. We tend not to watch the Olympics, though this year one of our grandsons has a behind the scenes job with the Olympics Broadcasting, and seems to be really enjoying himself, up there in the Dolomites.
Today the only excitement is that we're both having our ears micro suctioned ! The lady comes to the house so it's convenient. We both use hearing aids, so we have it done when necessary to keep our ears clear. We used to go to an audiologist who worked from his own home but he moved, so we found this lady.
Thoughts to the sad, poorly or lonely today. Take care folks.

Morning Everyone
Thanks for the start Gers, hope you're still enjoying the snow sports on TV.
The car is still here, no-one turned up to collect it so will phone again this morning to see what's happening. Meanwhile I'm going to work on the bus, will probably get the train home as the bus to work is an express but on the way home it's 2 buses. The train will be quicker.
Lots of little jobs were done yesterday and I started a cross stitch kit (twice). Used to do these quite often but it seems to be so much harder now I'm older!
Hope everyone is well and you had a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks GERS. After a morning of intermittent sunny spells yesterday morning the mizzly drizzly stuff came back at lunchtime. Today just the mizzly drizzly stuff is forecast.
By my standards I had a better night last night. I woke at 3.15 as usual but amazingly went back to sleep until 5.00. I'll settle for that.
I'll get the usual chores out of the way early and then it will be another day of mostly Olympic watching. Medal hopes today has got me excited!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Car woes seems to have overtaken washing machine woes for now. I hope the repairs are not too costly. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all
A bit dreary out there but no rain until tonight apparently.
Off out to meet up with 2 of my ex-colleagues from work this morning to catch up on all the gossip. Should have aching jaws later!
Enjoyed the ice dancing last night. Will see what's on today when I get back.
Have a good day all x

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x.
That’s so annoying about your car @camelot1001 I hope that public transport plays ball for you xLooks to be dry-ish here so I’ll go for another short run to clear my head. Not much planned for today - have not been asked to work so will potter here.
Dinner is sausages and mash. I got some baking potatoes x 4 for 19p so will use those. Also the cauliflower from a TGTG bag will become cauliflower cheese.Have a good day all, and hope all our poorlies are taking it easy x

Up, dressed and downstairs. Still dark though dawn is slowly creeping into the sky.
Whilst doing the dreaded bed changing yesterday I decided to take my own advice and move to two single duvets. The winter duvet is so unwieldy for me now it's not worth the struggle. Another sad sign of ageing I'm afraid. 😣 At least I won't have to face the challenge anymore. 😂
My day after that was semi-slothful. I put on the white wash to churn away. It's now upstairs on the airer and across the balcony rail. During my games marathon I tackled a large pile of financial papers which I'd found lurking on top of the washing machine and under the counter top. Most of it was dated 2023. So, I sat tearing off the address / account details and then screwing the bits up ready for burning when next out in the garden. The other remains are in the recycling bag which I'll be taking away today. Then I settled back. Eventually I found the Big Air stuff fairly boring as all the competitors were doing virtually the same trick. The lugew as thrilling as was the double slalom stuff. The curling had to be put on mute as the shouts and screams from the first team member really annoyed me - yes I know it's part of the game and the person is giving instructions and encouragement but still… And I finished my evening with the speed skating and team ice dance. Good to hear Robin Cousins again.
Today I have my exercise class to distract me from other things. The weekly spreadsheet is next after my two boiled eggs and coffee.
Sorry about your car @camelot1001 and the bad service too. I had my ears micro-suctioned last week @ScarletRibbons, it does feel so good when air suddenly whooshes back into the ear. Unfortunately I have to travel for it though my lovely local pharmacist is planning to have a clinic here once she organises the nurse.
I hope that everyone is feeling better despite the woes of winter. Hugs to all the poorlies and the poorlie families too.

morning everyone it’s damp out but the rain has stopped for a while more due later we are all going to have webbed feet. I’m going to meet my friend soon for a coffee and a catch up I can’t wait I’m fed up of been in the house . I need to take something out of the freezer for tonight it will be something to go with a jacket potato. I hope you feel a bit better today Gers a bit more like doing something although this weather doesn’t help . Camelot I hope you get some joy with the car today how annoying that you are having to rely on public transport I think they need a rocket up them . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

It’s actually dry and sunny here! Not for long though as the rain is due back at lunchtime. I am off to mums today to work - last week I started tackling her sewing room which has become a dumping ground I cleared a lot of it but now need to go through all the drawers etc and sort them into categories.
Dinner tonight will be pie mash and veg there are some carrots cooked from yesterday so will do some peas to go with them. The wm is on with a towel load so will hang them on the airer once done.Camelot I hope they get your car sorted soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all. Looks dull out there today but at least it's not raining.
We are meeting friends for a walk around St Albans today, followed by a pub lunch. Hopefully we can stick to decent footpaths and it won't be too muddy. After that I have a free evening, as I've decided not to continue with the Scottish dancing classes. It was a bit too old fashioned and formal for me so wasn't any fun. It might be that other groups are better and I just happened to chose the wrong one.
Hope things go well today for everyone and @Coxy11 you actually get some paid work!

Morning all, it's dry but with a yellow weather warning for rain later, it's quite dark indoors though and you need a light on.
We brought most of the stuff back from the van yesterday so today I shall be sorting through it and deciding whether to keep, bin or cs. I'll have lots of doublers to deal with as our van was our home from home. Then I'll settle down to watch some olympics. Tea tonight will be toad in the hole with mash and onion gravy, something we haven't had for ages.
The workmen were back this morning to fill in the
outdoor swimming poolpavement this morning, they had to pump out the hole first as the water was about 3ft deep again. Looks like another gang will have to do the tarmac and collect the the barriers that still surround it. There was a time when one gang did everything in one/two days but now it's already taken 5 days for one job and 3 different gangs.😒Mr Fix it has been trying for the past hour to book to see the vampire nurse at our local hospital but no one is answering the phone which is annoying as there's bound to be someone there somewhere ! He'll have to go to the drop in one at a hospital further afield if he has no joy today.
Take care all, enjoy your day if you can.
nan xx
