I recently booked this one which I think is very good value

Let me know if you are interested and I'll give some more details of my research (as I always research reviews, car parking etc.).

There are a lot of deals around for Jan/Feb/March but this is the best one I found rescently after doing hours of research.

I am sure there are some things around that are cheaper that this, but it's very good value for what is on offer.

No connection, but I have done several hours of searching and booked it myself.

The deal is £50 B&B for the room per night.

There is also a 33% sales on upgrades so a superior room would be £13.20 per night extra rather than £20.

There is also a 50% off deal on food (you must prebook for this). It's £15 per person at that rate.

So you could get dinner B&B for £80 or £93.20 if you want to be sure of having a nicer room.

I haven't been there bit here'a a summary of my research.

The upside is clearly that it's an elegant 4 start hotel with spa and golf facilities in a prime location for a travelodge price. The location is city center so it's not right next to the beach, but I believe it's walking distance for the able-bodied.

I always look at traveller reviews on trip advisor.
There are mixed reviews with some posistive and some negative.
A lot of the negative one relate to poor standard of decor or works going on. The restoration is now finished so most of these remarks are now irrelevant. Comments since the works are positive.
I also noticed that some of the negative comments came from people who'd paid much higher rates e.g. those who paid £150 weren't happy whereas those who paid £50 were delighted.
If you can afford it then I would upgrade as that way you can be sure of getting a decent room. Sometimes on these offers they might give you the worst rooms (as you're payhing less than other guests so there is always a danger of getting the worst standard rooms on a deal like this).

One downside is that the hotel charges £12 per night for parking which is a bit of a rip off. There may be some free parking near by or some cheaper parking in other car parks. But bear in mind that a public NCP for £8 offers less security than a private car park only accessible by access code. Personally I'm probably going to pay the £12 unless a free space jumps out in front of me because I don't want to risk my car or spend my weekend driving around for the sake of a few quid, but nevertheless you have choices, you don't have to park at the hotel.

If you are interested in National Trust type activities then you might want to consider joining up through quidco (cashback site). I joined for £32.63 and I'm hoping to get £20 back from quidco.

Total cost for you would be £184 including parking or £210 for a superior room and this includes dinner.

To find other deals I found them directly on hotel sites e.g.

    http://www.paramount-hotels.co.uk/he...-spa-package-s
    http://www.paramount-hotels.co.uk/of...barcel-night-w
    http://www.paramount-hotels.co.uk/offers

The paramount (barcelo) hotel in Torquay is very nice.
It was a 5 star until recently and then lost one of it's stars but the dining room is superb overlooking the bay (we have seen dolphins at dinner).
That one is £219 for a standard room so a bit more expensive but maybe a bit higher standard.

If you go to Torquay and you like animals then I woudl recommend a visit to the donkey sanctuary at Sidmouth.

The dinner at the Torquay hotel is normally £27.50 so that's £110 "worth" of dinner included in the price. Parking at the Imperial in Torquay is £7 (outdoors) but there aren't a lot of streets round here so not a lot of choice, but I think it's got CCTV.

    Hope that helps.
