Backmarket warning: only if you can be without your phone for 10-14 days

It now has a fault and the only option BackMarket is offering me is to post my phone back for repair (taking up to five working days once they receive it: 10 or more days in reality.)
Not quite sure how you worked that out when the website states:
We require sellers to repair and ship your device back to you within just 3 business days (except for laptops and bulky items, which can take up to 5 business days).

Google phones are full of non-UK parts, as is every other mobile phone
Yes, seems like a very poor excuse, as most likely the phone was made in China, or some other far off place.

Do you think at any co like the one the OP has used would offer a business level replacement (same or next day) at the price they charge?
Did the OP even state to the company that this was a business purchase & such such wanted a (same or next day) replacement should there be any issues with the purchased 2nd hand phone.

just look at the price. 😜
Had OP done their due diligence given the needs of the required purchase.
They state "The best prices for high-quality renewed goods by sellers we’ve checked and vetted."
So a slight step up from Ebay, given the co's selling are vetted.

I understand that this is Praise, Vent and Warnings but any second hand electronic device you buy could be non-UK/EU stock. It's basically a risk you run buying second-hand/refurb, it's not a warning that should be unique to Backmarket.
I would not expect a second-hand or refurb device to be repairable under manufacturer warranty. Typically they live and die with the original purchaser, and if they've been opened up and refurbed I'd expect a manufacturer to want nothing to do with it. Being without something for 7-10 days whilst it is repaired under warranty is not excessive, it's pretty par for the course.
If you operate a business without backup systems you will come undone sooner or later. It's a bit of an inconvenience as a consumer but it could be the difference between keeping a roof over your head or not if your business can't operate.0 -
perhaps your business should review their Business Continuity Plans?
