Morning GERS and all to follow. This morning we have light fog but the inevitable gloomy day is in store, although it is supposed to be marginally milder this w/e. Hm we'll see if that happens.
No plans other than a trip to Sainsbobs at some point with DS. I still await the time. It's the usual short list again, mainly f & v and fridge stuff. And no freezer stuff!
I waited for a lull in the weather yesterday before my trip into town to collect my parcel. Sadly it caught me on the way back! I tried to get a card for SIL's 70th birthday whilst I was out, but what a dire selection. Strangely there were some lovely ones for all the other ages. I'll keep looking.
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Back, though still in bed.
Thanks to everyone for your good wishes yesterday. Although the event only lasted 15 minutes it was very dignified and moving. There were six of us; Lionel's niece and her partner, two historian colleagues, a neighbour and me. I didn't go the offered cup of tea afterwards preferring to drive straight home. I was too upset to sit with people I hardly knew. The niece very kindly gave me a huge bouquet and thank you card along with a painting which my DM had done and then given to L in her final days. The funny thing is that I really coveted that particular painting as it's part of a companion pair so am doubly grateful to now have it.
I'll read back later. I hope that all are well despite domestic problems, illnesses and general annoyances. Hugs to all.14 -
Good morning , thanks Gers. I'm glad that yesterday went as well as it could.
Another gloomy day here, yesterday it rained all day.
We are going out for lunch with the family today, it's an early birthday celebration for me. It's not my actual birthday till the 24th, but for various reasons it was easier to get the family together today. We are going to a local restaurant, it will be nice.
Nothing else of note happening.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning everyone and thanks @Gers for starting us off. I’m glad yesterday went as well as it could and how lovely to have the painting as a momento x
Our WM went on the blink yesterday but luckily DH managed to sort it when he got home - a colour catcher sheet stuck in the out pipe! We have my aunt and uncle visiting today, so I have cakes at the ready. DSis and I are popping out after and will leave DH to watch the rugby. Dinner is moules et frites 😊
Have a lovely (early) birthday meal @ScarletRibbons x
Hugs to all our poorly folk and take care all

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, glad you could be there for Lionel's final journey. Lovely that you have the painting too.
Busy morning so far, the heating engineer was here at 7.40, thankfully he had messaged me yesterday to say it would be between 7.30 and 12 so I was up, showered, dressed and ready. He has diagnosed a fault but just waiting now to hear if the company will repair or it's wear and tear - think I know what the answer will be!
Whilst he was here I sorted the spice cupboard, shamefully there were lots of very out of date jars in there so they've all been emptied and the jars in a bag for the recycling. Also put out a few things from the freezer that have been lurking for a while and I know I won't eat them even though I hate wasting food. Left a couple of bags of veggies out to use for soup and my dinner tonight.
Glad your washing machine is sorted Coxy.
Have a lovely early birthday meal Scarlet.
I have a warning light on my car but can't get it in to the garage for another 2 weeks, was looking at the handbook to see what it was yesterday morning at work when one of the Dad's, who's a mechanic, came in to drop his child off and saw the book. He said to call into the garage on the way home (the car is still under warranty) and ask for one of his pals who may be able to take a look. He called back later saying he would call here this morning as he has some sort of reader that will show what the fault is. What a lovely thing to do, just hope it's nothing serious!
Once he's been I'll go and do some shopping and hopefully will have time to call at the allotment before it's locked up at 1pm - really need to start clearing the beds ready for some planting.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning allfrom Mehefinland
Another wet one - I know now why my Mum called this month ' February Fill-dyke' . Had to go to a meeting yesterday morning and the roads were really bad in places.
Met a 'new to me lady' last night too. Is very similar to me in that she also has horses, is on a community council, litter picks etc. so we had a lot in common to talk about but I don't think the 'spark' was there. Will continue to chat as and when, and see if anything develops -it has taken ages for our diaries to align so I suspect this will fizzle out. Time will tell.
Horses couldn't wait to get in yesterday lunchtime- the weather was pretty dire. Showman's rug was so wet I could hardly lift it off him- it has dried a bit overnight though. Fairy couldn't give two hoots - although she does like her stable now. When we first got her she had always lived out - so it was a bit of a culture shock for her to be stabled. Think she has got used to her creature comforts - and the treats she gets lol.
Supposed to be having a council' drop in' event this morning - I can't see anyone turning up in this weather
@Gers Glad the event went off ok - and so pleased you have reunited the picture to it's pair.
Hugs and spoons and apologies if I've missed anything important

Morning all
Another damp and dreary day the garden is just a boggy mess, can’t wait for some sun to dry it all out.
Gers I’m glad yesterday went well and that the painting has been reunited with its partner xx
Not much on the cards today but of housework this morning and then I still have to do the course online so will try and get that done later. Dinner tonight is going to be a T/A dd said she will treat us it will either be a Chinese or an Indian I will be happy with either, it will save me cooking.
I have a wash on the go and one on the airer, I will finish the one on the airer off in the TD for 10 minutes and then put the wet load in front of the fire.
Our log man is coming later with a load of logs, I’m hoping this load will see the winter out, but we may get another to store for next winter.
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Good Morning All
I was successful in getting the 3 month promotion secondment at work, I started this week, a lot to learn and in this role you get constantly interrupted if you are in the office. I now work more days and don’t do nights anymore. Your positive vibes sent my way worked.
I feel like this morning I am starting with another cold courtesy of DS2 he has it last week. I will dose myself up and try to get rid of it quickly as last time I had the flu it was awful and took several weeks to feel better so I hope it’s not that.
Today I need to go shopping, sort out a space to work from home, do the cleaning and cook dinner.
It’s yet another rainy day would love a bit of sunshine.
Gers, glad the service was nice and that you had the picture given to you to pair up with the other one.
Take care one and all, enjoy your day
