Home Insurance Recommendations

So for the last 5 years I have been insured with Quotemehappy (Aviva) who ive never had to claim with except for a few home emergency call outs.

Its renewal time and whilst I wait for the renewal quote due early next week I have been checking comparison sites and both Sky and Tesco Bank are coming up £100+ cheaper a year compared to last years QMH price.

With QMH I have the full cover with home emergency, legal protection, accidental damage and matching sets. QMH seem to increase the price every year.

I believe matching sets may be an issue with Sky & Tesco bank but was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the above insurers or could recommend another good home insurance company please where they have actually claimed?

Thanks in advance!

Sky is the white label for an intermediary, on the basis the policy document states you need to contact the insurer on your schedule for a complaint in relation to claims then clearly they arent involved in the claims. It's not abundantly clear if they are placing everything with Axa (as they did on a quote for me) or have a panel of insurers. When they launched it was written by Zurich so to have changed in under 3 years time is unusual

Personally claims experience with Aviva was good but Aviva have many tiers of products aimed at different segments and there is no guarantee if you buy one of their basic policies that you will get the same service as one of their Mid Net Worth.

Tescos write their own insurance and have done for a good few years now. No experience of them since they moved to this model but at least any reviews should be fairly consistent -v- sky where who your policy was placed with could impact the experience.
