is it worth paying "arrangements to pay" off?

Hi, I am slowly working on getting my credit in a better position, I have a default due to drop off in August. In addition to it I have 2 accounts which didn't default but I have an arrangement to pay directly with the company to which the debt was sold. My question is, is it worth paying off these amounts so that there is no "AR" marker against the debt as I know it will still show on my credit file for 6 years ie will I get any benefit by doing it? Thank you.

What status are they currently showing as on your credit file?

The AP markers will keep being added until it is paid off so yes, it's probably a good idea to focus on these debts first as the sooner they are paid off, the sooner they are settled and they drop off your file.

You could try to argue the toss with them that they should have defaulted, although you may or may not have any success with this and it would depend entirely on how old they are as to whether it is worthwhile.

Thanks Sourcrates - they are showing actually as "OK" - which I am surprised about.
