About four sellers so far using exactly the same photos are selling the same items for aprox £22-£25
So yes too good to be true applies .
They must be fakes possibly drop shipped via AliExpress no real photos or personally taken photos are used in the listings .
One seller has a negative feedback post stating fake item with the above drop ship pathway and another uk addressed seller…. has ONLY USA sales feedback .
All are listed with uk address locations .
Im guessing this is normal with Ebay electrical items and its not possible to report so just move on as reporting is a waste of ones time .
In reality I wanted more experienced opinions from regulars on here so I become more aware as I very rarely buy anything these days on ebay but just about got caught out this time.
In this case it would seem Ive spent ages wasting my time looking at fraudsters selling AliExpress drop shipped items on ebay because I just couldnt figure it all out ……finally I suspected to good to be true was highly likely .

Are Andis actually a decent brand? Or are they just a generic shaver marked up with a silly price? Maybe the cheap ones are exactly the same as the higher priced ones?
The Trust Pilot reviews for Andis are not very good (80% 1-star reviews) with lots saying they are poor quality - https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.andis.com
For comparison, Wahl seem to fair much better on reviews - https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/wahl.co.uk

Not checked trust pilot yet but will soon .
I am going by my local traditional london barber shop that has multiple chairs staff etc and is always very busy near a tube an rail station .
They are doing hundreds of customers .
The barber shop owner is not a joe average user having a foil shaving shopping experience then using trust pilot.
The Barber shop owner uses Andis foil shavers on hundreds of customers but staff can use what ever tools they prefer of course but they have to make the grade so to speak .
No one will be using bad tools because of repeat high customer volume…..which requires and will force using good tools .

Andis is a USA product .
The first handful of trust pilot reviews seem to be about grooming ones dogs in the united states and/or the hair clippers not the specific foil shavers.
Dog grooming hardly applies to a mens lithium foil shaver ..trust pilot seems to be on the same level as Ebay .

If you're sure it is worth trying to report one to see if there's a category that applies. It's unlikely eBay will do anything from a one-off report but if enough people do, they may act. Nothing to lose, at worst you'll have wasted only a minute or so in submitting the report.

No I wont bother cause Ebay isnt bovvered
Im new to buying smaller electrical items online in a catagory on Ebay that obviously has knockoffs .
Which means Ebay will be full of other electrical knockoffs
Something that will only get worse so ….
Its probably better to buy on Amazon

Its probably better to buy on Amazon
Just watch out for the marketplace sellers. Many of them will be the same sellers as on eBay. If you can find one that's sold by Amazon themselves that will be your safest option.

Looking again at the Andis pro foil TS-2 shaver on Ebay the listings are riddled with so many fakes the whole Ebay site is compromised if you wanted to buy one .
You dont know what your getting no matter what your paying .

Thanks I will have to check out the differences you mention on Amazon which I have only just recently used for a couple bags of coffee .
I guess I am surprised/naive at how bad Ebay is today….. in certain catagorys its a fake goods/fraudsters paradise !
If you study a item like I did and all the feedback of the multiple sellers…then you do see the negative signs more clearly as they are all similar but it all takes a month of sundays .
No wonder Ebay shouts out so loud …….you have the eBay Money Back Guarantee .
The fact they allow such obvious fakes and outright scammers to sell them …..its hard to trust Ebay at all .

May not be fake but a batch the factory are selling without the full branding.
Years back I bought an OBDII reader which was about £80 from UK sellers but I found them on ebay
for £40. Thought it's unlikely to be fake due to the numbers sold and the genuine item turned up with one
difference, there was no serial number but it still updated and worked as intended.
Assume the factory made more than the original company ordered and sold them cheaply on ebay
without the company knowing. They sorted the updates by requiring a serial number.
I had heard of grey imports and items not built to the same spec for various markets but that was
my first encounter with something that essentially came out of the back door of the same factory.
Seems strange to fake something that originall costs $80 where other brands are more common and have
higher priced products making them more profit?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Looking at 4 seperate sellers feedback all with exactly the same photos in different uk locations…..dropshipped fakes were mentioned in at least one buyers feedback possibly two .
AliExpress these are £13
The cheapest sellers above are selling them for around £22-25 other sellers costs are higher where the retail seems to be £60-80.
When you look at other items the sellers are listing all electrical or tat …. these foil shavers are not unwanted xmas presents as all have the older style not the newer box type.
American Andis foil shavers are popular with barbers ie. the right tools for the job and also replacement foil costs seem ok .
I have givern up buying on Ebay as I dont want to deal with any return/refund risk imo these are popular but very high risk items on ebay .
