Phone network digital switch over - should I have heard from Sky?

Sky seemingly provide their new customers with IP telephony via the Sky router and may well have a program to move others over to IP , but they don’t have the same deadline of Jan2027 as they provide their old telephone service as LLU not WLR , basically Sky don’t use BT PSTN equipment in the exchange building, they have their own equipment that provides dialtone , so the Jan2027 PSTN switch off doesn’t have the same impact on them as that affects Openreach WLR products not Openreach LLU

What switch over?
Do you mean from using Open Reach to an ALT network?

Sky appear to be providing new customers with IP telephony through the Sky router and may also have plans to migrate existing customers to IP-based services. However, they are not bound by the same January 2027 deadline, as Sky’s traditional telephone service is delivered via LLU rather than WLR.
In simple terms, Sky does not rely on BT’s PSTN equipment within exchange buildings. Instead, they use their own equipment to provide dial tone. Because of this, the January 2027 PSTN switch-off has far less impact on Sky customers, as that deadline specifically affects Openreach WLR products rather than Openreach LLU services
