Child trust fund 'missing'

Hi, we're having difficulty finding out if your youngest daughter has a CTF.

She was born in Scotland in October 2008, so AFAIK she should have one, her elder sister did.

We've twice completed the online HMRC facility, nothing back from them at all (earliest application was 16th January)

Is a total lack of response them effectively saying she doesn't have one, or should expect a response from them whatever?

One aspect that worries me is that we used to get occasional post from her elder sister's CTF company asking if we we wanted to make additional payments.

No such post ever received for the youngest one….

Any pointers / advice for who to turn to if HMRC are ignoring our requests?

My Son was born in 2009 and had one, not sure if it was different for Scotland? But government can be slow to respond

What happens next

You’ll get a letter from HMRC with details of the Child Trust Fund provider. You’ll usually get this within 3 weeks of HMRC getting your request, if you apply online. Postal applications will take longer.

If you do not get a response within 6 weeks, you can write to HMRC. Include your reference number if you have one.

Three weeks is only just up and you would need to allow for second class post.

Usually means not everyone will get a reply in 3 weeks.
