Morning everyone
I'll be thinking of you Gers and Lionel's niece x
Still raining here
I saw little one for just 5 minutes yesterday, I collected some work from school and took it round for her. She rang when I was home from work to tell me she'd done it all and had a game of scrabble with her mummy.
DD said last night the cream seems to be starting to work, hopefully she'll be back at school on Monday.
Eldest DD has sent photos this morning of the apartment she and her friend are staying at in Vienna, it's in an old building and looks lovely.
Must get my lunch made, then I'll go down to mam and dads to do his banking. I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all
Gers I hope all goes well today xx
Raining here 🙄 and will be for most of the day, I have a nail appointment today so the world will be put to rights by lunchtime 😂Dinner tonight will be something quick with chips maybe bacon egg and beans, will see what we fancy later, I need to have a quick tidy through but will do the main housework tomorrow.
I have put a wash on this morning but it will have to go on the airer to dry by the fire.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's thread. My thoughts will be with you and Lionel's niece today, also with @Florenceem at her DH's CoL celebration. A sad day for all concerned.
No change in the weather, yet more rain! There doesn't seem to be any let-up in sight either. Yesterday afternoon I was watching parents picking up their offspring from school in the pouring rain (those that walk anyway) and thought to myself, much as I miss the days when my children were little, I definitely don't miss those school runs.
I had a semi productive day yesterday 😁 and fitted in a clean of the under sink cupboard as well as a sort through of its contents. I binned a tin of dried up shoe polish plus a couple of no longer useful cleaning rags, then added the contents of a bottle of diluted down shower cream that I use as hand wash to the contents of the bottle that's on the window sill. Not much gone but it looks tidier. My garden kneeler came in handy too - I'm OK getting down to these jobs but getting up can be a challenge!
It being Friday, it's weekly admin day and fish for tea. Sometimes my meals are so predictable. 🙄
Commiserations to those having problems with their heating, not ideal at this time of year, so I hope it gets sorted asap.
@Suffolksue - I've also got rid of heaps of stuff on the basis it will make life easier for DS when I depart; what's gone hasn't been missed and, worse still, I can't even remember what half of it was. 🤔
Have a good day and stay dry if you can! Hugs available if needed. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi all
Thought I would pop in whilst at work - no-one will notice!
Hope everything goes smoothly today Gers.
Another one with heating woes - this has been going on for ages. The chap who promised to come and fix it via the breakdown company hasn't shown up twice this week so I had to phone them again this morning and they will hopefully send someone else although I've not heard from anyone yet. Told them not to bother contacting the two companies who didn't show up.
Work is fairly quiet at the moment, it's nice to have time to have a bit of a tidy round and catch my breath
Hope the little one is on the mend dp1.
It's cold and damp today but not as windy as yesterday - that gale would have cut you in two!
Take care. XX

@Suffolksue - I wasn't sure either but I just put the @ sign in front of your name. It turned up highlighted in yellow below your name - and when I clicked on it, it turned blue and bold. I think putting the sign before the name is what works. And then clicking on the name in blue.
